*Official UGA Class of 2022 Decisions Thread*

@gfromny my UGA gpa 4.1 btw

@1111bbbb, Her Math and English were only 28s, so that’s her ACT for UGA, which isn’t great, and then idk what her UGA GPA would be. Would have to go through her transcript and figure it out. I see that they don’t give extra value to Honors, though, only APs, and she only has four of those total. All As in her first Trimester this year, so that will get reported and we’ll see. They definitely calculate grades and test scores differently from a lot of other schools.

@MetronoxIZ After this year I will have completed 12 AP/IB classes (including AP Calc BC) and haven’t taken a non-honors class my whole high school career, I just kinda got screwed over since I got a lot of 93’s which at my school is a B+ which translates to a 3.0 by UGA’s standards, and I had a few 100s for the year which count the same as 94s for UGA for some reason.
Hopefully i do get in rd

@g8rmomk8ans - Is it too late for her to study for just the Math and English portions over the holidays and take the ACT again in January? If she could get her scores up just a smidge. Also, that is great that she has all A’s. If she can keep that up that will show very good trajectory. Best of luck.

@1111bbbb @MetronoxIZ Don’t you find it weird that I get deferred at UGA but get 82k off over 4 years at USC business (out of state for both). Is UGA really that much harder of a school?

@classof18student Yeah that’s crazy. I hate the UGA application process, it’s very unfair sometimes. But UGA is a really good school at the end of the day. #54 in nation and #16 best public in nation so its up their. The reason it is so hard is bc Georgia has something called the Hope and Zell Miller scholarships. Hope (3.0 UW) pays half of your tuition and Zell (3.7 UW) pays full tuition. This means that most Georgia residents will apply to UGA making it extremely competitive. It ranks with NYU with stats of people who were accepted despite it being 20+ positions lower than NYU.

Accepted : )

@WarpedSun - correct, you actually scored a 33.5 on the ACT in University of Georgia’s eyes as they only consider those 2 sections.

Has anyone around Atlanta metro area received the acceptance letter?

I also got the Classic Scholarship waiver

Has anyone who was accepted received an email with their UGA ID yet? The acceptance email and portal both indicate that this “important email” will arrive shortly after acceptance, but my D hasn’t gotten the email yet. We’re a little anxious to go ahead and put down the housing deposit, but can’t do that until we get that ID. Thanks -

I got mine the Saturday (Nov 18) after the acceptances went out. Could be in her spam?

Does anyone know if all acceptances to honors via automatic admission have been sent out? My son did not get into honors yet, but his friend who has a slightly lower GPA and ACT score got his email last week

@123college_ - my nephew received his admission to the Honors Program early last week in an email. He had a 34 ACT and a 3.9 UGA GPA with 9 AP classes. He has already signed up for the Honors visit day in February.
