My son did not get an email either – I am a bit surprised since he received the Presidential Waiver and another scholarship. His UGA GPA is 4.11 and SAT is 1480.

I got honor program acceptance email on last Friday. My UGA GPA is 4.08 and SAT is 1530 (800 M + 730 R/W).
@Waldo755 my son seems to be very similar to yours in stats (34 ACT and 4.3 GPA, received a Presidential Waiver plus some), Maybe not all invitations have been sent out? I have no doubt that the application pool was incredibly competitive, but we are still a little surprised that he did not get invited to honors
@123college_ - your son had excellent grades and test scores. Did he take a large number of APs? Did he take the harder AP courses like AP Physics, Chemistry, and Biology? How did he do on his written essays? Was the 34 ACT English and Math sections? This is what UGA says about Honors admissions:
"The Honors Program at UGA follows the same basic criteria that the University evaluates when granting admission. Rigor of the high school curriculum, high school grade point average, and standardized test scores (SAT and/or ACT) are all basic factors considered in Honors admission.
To improve your chances with regard to Honors admission, we suggest a challenging schedule of high school classes including Advanced Placement (AP) and/or International Baccalaureate (IB) courses. We evaluate transcripts and students based on the number of challenging courses they took compared to the number that were offered at their high school. Weighted grade point averages are taken into consideration, with specific emphasis on the core classes taken during high school. Honors looks at SAT scores on the 1600 scale, though writing is required and is evaluated for admission to UGA.
For more information on the average SAT/ACT scores and GPA for Honors admission, please visit the First-Year Profile page."
Thanks funtimes123 - It wasn’t in her spam, but we figured out that she didn’t get the email because she already had a UGA ID from participating in a program there one summer. She had to remember her password from 2 years ago, but we got it figured out. Just sharing in case anyone else had that problem.

@A1A1A1 The admissions blog addresses your question. All deferred applicants are notified end of March unless you sent in new test scores from Nov, Dec that put you in the EA admitted range, then you might be notified mid-Feb.

Despite a great hs gpa, she is only ranked in the top 25% of her class…very competitive school.
She retook the SAT this past December which is what gave her the 1330 super score. Before that her October score was a 1290. She isn’t the greatest test taker. Hoping that this increase in score helps push into the accepted category either next week or mid March! Praying!
