To be honest, I have no clue how I got accepted!
Accepted in CS. OoS. 33 ACT. Weighted GPA 4.16 class rank 21/433. Pretty good ec’s and a decent essay I guess.

Essays were fine. Quite a good number of leadership positions in various clubs, and certain noteworthy ECs/achievements/honors. (Published a geoengineering paper, international finalist in an ASEAN science competition, some MUNs and decent ranks in national olympiads (Not the international olympiad).)
Is Electrical Engineering that competitive for international students?
Deferred and disappointed… moving on and applying to many OOS schools.
@aimlesswriter if you can get in-state tuition, GO TO UW
I was (quite pleasantly & surprisingly) accepted to CS (ENG) from out of state (Maryland).
32 ACT (33 Math tho)
Hook: Hispanic
Cool name (possibly subconsciously affected something)
Great essays
3.85 UW GPA / 4.45 W GPA

High-ish-ranked high school (but it has grade inflation)
Above average ECs
6 AP classes (including 2nd semester senior year)
NHRP, NHS, Mu Alpha Theta
No felonies (lol)
I believe engineering, business, and psych are competitive majors and that’s why It’s harder to get accepted when you apply for these. Apply undeclared to the division of general studies and then work your way towards your intended major.
Accept, LAS -Math&Computer Science and James Honor.
GPA: 3.88/4.53
ACT: 35
so-so ECs.
OoS.
Accepted to Comp Sci with 3.9GPA, 2340, top 5%. Still have to withdraw application cuz of ED. Someone else can have my spot.
where do people find merit aid/honors stuff?
@goblue8721 It should just list on the page when you click continue.
@ph2017 Yeah dude, they mentioned about not sending 7th semester grades. What exactly does that mean?
Literally everyone in CS has been deferred. Do you have any tips for deferred applicants? Is there anything I can do to help my application? Many with amazing stats have also been deferred, I just don’t get why or what this policy does to help… Also, are deferred candidates preferred over regular decision candidates at all?
Accepted in College of Liberal Arts and Sciences as Psych Major
2120 SAT (750/700/670)
International, IB DP
Pretty Good EC’s
Great Essay
After seeing all the applicants with such high SAT scores and GPA’s get deferred or rejected, I think the only reason i got in was become of my major. Engineering and CS have just become too competitive to admit everyone with great stats, so their review probably got more holistic. Anyway, congratulations to everybody who got in, and good luck to all those who were deferred.
Accepted college of engineering (IE)
Act 29 but superscore 31
Gpa 3.8
Out of state,international
Accepted CS College of Engineering
Act 33, superscore 34
GPA 3.77 UW
Out of state
Pretty surprised I got in. My scores aren’t as good as many who got rejected, but my ECs probably saved me. Does anyone know what the statistics for accepted/deferred/rejected are or have been in past years?
