Ok, so I have been rejected by all the ivies. So I am looking more into Maryland. I noticed a Housing thing posted today…hmmmm…

It’s okay @cfl927, life moves on without them

Quick: Georgetown, Hopkins, or UMD

ya i got that housing thing too, does that mean we are accepted?

I think it might… we have the option to answer a bunch of housing questions?? PLEASE. IM SO ANXIOUS FOR MY DECISION !!

Decisions are online guys!

ok…who got in RD and what are your credentials? My daughter won’t be around to check till tonight and the suspense is killing me…aaaahhhh!

3.8 gpa 30 act oos

accepted to spring term unfortunately, if only i applied earlier

1460 2 part SAT, 31 ACT, 3.5ish gpa, and OOS. Very weak freshman/sophomore year, but strong Junior year and very strong senior year grades. Average EC’s. I think what might have affected it was after I visited in February I wrote them a letter about how much of a good time I had and how I really liked the school.

Wow ! No updates on admissions to UMD . Looks like the thread is inactive.
Either - very have have checked or UMD is SLOWLY sending admission decisions { or may be very little interest - given the decisions from other places }

I think most of the action happens with the students who apply by the priority deadline, which was Nov. 1. From what I understand, only students who apply by that deadline are eligible for Honors College, other various sort of honors programs, and for merit-based scholarships.

still nothing …

I got accepted for the fall semester!!! I really didn’t know if I had a chance because I applied late and passed the regular decision deadline. I got an email from them yesterday at around 5:30 pm. Good luck to everyone else!

@notjoe, even better reason for me not to consider this school

lakeawead, why is that?

My family is going to be MD residents next year and I’ll need an exceptional financial aid award to sway me into UMD’s direction…(lets just say the best school in the District offered me a full ride)

lakeawead,

It sounds like perhaps you should go to the “best school in the District.”

However, I’m not sure what that has to do with Maryland’s priority deadline.

The fact that Maryland awards honors and scholarships only for priority applications doesn’t seem to enter into the question of whether or not to consider Maryland at this late date.

My family isn’t going to contribute much to the costs, simply said. Maryland would have to offer me an out of this world package for me to accept it. If you see my past posts, you can figure out which school(s) I am speaking of.
