Official UNC 2014 Applicants

Well we won’t have housing info until we get the stuff in the mail. I have no idea about the first dibs stuff though.

What are you guys thinking for housing? South for social, North for convenience? I’m so EXCITED!

Me too! I called my mom again and we had a 30 minute conversation where all we said back and forth was: “I’m so excited!” “I know, right?” “I’m so excited!” It’s all cool… I think I’m allowed to act like a teenage girl every once and a while.

I’m torn about housing. I really want to be in a quiet dorm, but at the same time, I don’t want it to affect my social life//making friends. North would also be more convenient, but I don’t know. On the bright side, I’m totally prepared for dorm living!

Yeah, I can’t wait for a dorm.

I’m feeling South campus. Bus + Bike would work, but you just can’t replace that social atmosphere. If I stay on campus sophomore year, I might like someplace in the Connor community.

This is going to make senioritis so much worse.

I love biking, but again, I think the distance would be pretty annoying, especially if you had any early morning classes. Maybe I’ll tough it out, though. I just hope I don’t get a really loud roommate.

The one thing I don’t like about south campus is that most (maybe all) of the buildings are suite style. I think corridor would be so much more fun.

I’ve never lived in a suite style… I think the success or failure really depends on whether or not there is an automatic cleaning service for the shared suite bathroom. If you’re on your own, I’m sure it would be pretty awful.

I know a girl at Carolina who says her bathroom is always disgusting due to her roommates never cleaning. And I’m a guy, so I know it will be bad.

[Olde Campus Lower Quad Community - Home](http://housing.unc.edu/oclq/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1)

The lower quad looks great…

Yeah, honestly, they clean our corridor style one once a day at 9am, and it’s still disgusting by 3pm. Although, if you have like issues with people seeing you walk in/out of the shower, then suite might be your best best. I can’t name the number of unbelievably awkward conversations I’ve had when I’ve run into people in the hall before/after taking a shower.

Privacy isn’t that much of an issue. I just feel like in a corridor style, you’ll know most people on your hall. I’ve heard with suites, you basically end up knowing your suitemates.

Yeah, I’m all for corridor style too…

My top dorms are Kennan, Alexandar, Joyner, and Winston.

I really want a sub-free dorm. Anyone else going to try to get into the WELL program? Anyone else planning on trying out for the Equestrian Team? : )

This is seriously the happiest I’ve ever felt in my life.

^ I might! I haven’t decided yet, but it seems like a cool program.

cannn people put down whether they got in and whether they are in state/out of state please =]

^It’s in the general UNC forum^

Definitely agree with that! It sucks that I have 3 AP’s this semester (out of 4 classes), can’t exactly let up too much…

As much as I would love to go ahead and put down my enrollment payment, I have to wait til at least April 1st to hear back from 5 more schools!

I’m definitely going to tour some time in spring… the last time I toured, it was pouring down rain and 40 degrees. I think the campus will look gorgeous come April.

Have you all toured / planning on touring again?

I’ve toured but also been there many times for games. did anyone else not get any of the likely stuff and get in? (likely letter, scholarship/shadow/connect invite, student calls…)
