Can anyone else access their payments link, or academics on the website? Is everyone assigned a PIN before being admitted? Can’t wait to find out!

hey repost this on the main UNC forum. might get more replies. dont think that many people check the UNC 2017 forum out.

Does anyone know if invitations for regular decision scholarship day have gone it? The admissions website says it is scheduled for next Friday!

@JRswish: It won’t let me delete this post for some reason?

@mmrrhh44: They were sent out last week and it would show up on invitations on the UNC portal

^shiv, would you mind sharing how to access the invitations section on the UNC portal? I’ve been desperately navigating their website, trying to RSVP for the scholarship day before the deadline of March 15. Apparently, I’m enough of a loser to not be able to find it. :frowning: Pity me?

@randomazn14: Yeah just go on https://unc.askadmissions.net/Vip/Vip.aspx</a> and sign in with your log-in info and then at the top middle there’s something titled “My Events” click on the link below that and you should get to the Scholarship Day invite

looking forward to this decision as well…
posting for future reference :D

Does anyone know if it is for sure coming out today? I know UChicago is

id say next week because last years decisions were released March 23… http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-north-carolina-chapel-hill/1305054-official-unc-chapel-hill-2016-rd-results.html</a></p>

And March 18th the day before that. But I thought they would give admissions prior to Scholarship Day next weekend…

I’m feeling so discouraged right now. WUSL and Chicago both wait listed me. Their acceptance rates were about the same as Chapel Hill for OOS. Chapel Hill is my absolute number one but I didn’t realize that until well after I had applied. Now I can’t imagine myself anywhere else. I don’t know what I’ll do if they reject me. At this rate, I’ll be waitlisted everywhere!

@lostinapps: Don’t worry UNC is easier to get into than Chicago. UNC OOS is about 15% but Chicago this year was said to be below 9%. Also, the UNC applicants aren’t as good as UChicago, mainly because its a state school. Plus UChicago has really weird taste and a lot of it is based on subjective things like essay’s. You got this!

^Dayum, gurl/dude. You took the words right out of my mouth.

And omg, thanks, shiv! I finally got to decline! Yay/nooooo. Also just got waitlisted from Chicago, heh. So yes, UNC is easier (still great and all, obviously), mainly because it’s a state school. Does anyone have an idea of how competitive/high-caliber the honors college students are versus, say, UChicago students? Nothing too prestige-whore-ish, but I’m pretty curious. :)

I like this thread haha just a handful of people and we don’t brag 24/7 like those Ivy League forum’s. Plus it looks like we’re all in the same boat for the most part!

It’s not a shabby boat, eh? When is it going to surpass HYP, tho??!!! Heh.

“A select number of exceptional students are invited to join Honors Carolina each year. This year, Honors Carolina expects to enroll 400 incoming students, or about 10 percent of the first-year class.” –<a href=“FAQ - Honors Carolina | Come Here. Go Anywhere.”>http://honorscarolina.unc.edu/faqs/</a></p>

So I’m guessing top 10% of UNC is about the 50th percentile of Chicago?

^Don’t underestimate UNC :p

Nope not underestimating! Just guessing based on stats and stuff. Trust me I’d probably go to UNC over Chicago, partly because of K-F but also because of the non-pretentious people.

that are actually geniuses
