[li] going to attend? we'll see where else I get in, but definitely near the top of my list[/li][/ul]Other Factors:

Wow - i don't remember the statistics from the press release, but it seems that CC is getting WAY over the average for OOS acceptance (the rate). says something about CC, but makes me think... college guides (all i've read) have said that OOS UNC acceptance is one of the hardest acceptances to come by in the nation - this thread suggests otherwise! I guess a lot of us just rock ;)

i don't think the thread suggests that OOS UNC acceptance is easy. in fact, i think it only proves that it proves how difficult it is. All of the applicants have astronomical sat scores, high gpas, and great ec's

so yeah, i'd say it's pretty much b/c a lot of ccers rock...

haha yeah. i wasn't trying to say that OOS admission is easy by any means - more that it seems to be exaggerated by the array of college guides. they gave me the feeling that OOS admission was similar to getting in @ stanford, princeton - you get the point. obviously it is among the very, very selective schools in the nation, but not quite at that point.

press release said acceptance rate of 22% for OOS. the percentage is much higher on CC because those who were either rejected or deferred may not feel like putting their stats with all of the acceptees that have already posted

Also, the people on CC are usually pretty intense about schools, you're going to find a lot higher range of the "Good" population students. so it will seem like more than usual get in
