Does anyone know if they actually wait until April 21st to tell you if you are in or not? Also, do they tell everyone at the same time, or does it depend on when you got your application in?

i just went to their transfer day (held on campus feb. 8th)and they said that they will notify everyone on or around the 21st, regardless of when the application was submitted. hope that helps!

It sucks they make the transfer apps wait till the end of April, I turned my app in over a month ago.

i turned in my app FOUR months ago. i didn't realize they waited for everyone until april.

Citymiddle, can you please elaborate about your experience at the UNC Transfer Day. Any pertinent information that you could share? Thanks,

for unc transfer day, we sat in a large room while we heard from previous transfer students, took a campus tour, and then had a meal in the dining hall. toward the end, an admissions staff took a look at our transcripts and marked off which courses would be applicable toward a UNC degree. it was held from about 10 am until around 4 in the afternoon. everyone was very friendly and helpful. they did specify that transfer applications would be notified in the middle of april. if you have any specific questions, you can ask and i'll let you know if they gave an answer.

I'm applying for junior standing.

College GPA: 3.79
ACT: 27 (11 Writing) :/
Currently at a state school in PA.

Citymiddle, Did you come away with an idea as to whether it is easier to get in as a transfer in as a soph or to wait, apply to transfer as a jr?
If coming in as a soph, do they use high school information to make an admissions decision? If one applied as a h.s. student, will they still have recs, etc. if they decide to apply the next year as a transfer?

rutgersmamma....i can tell you out of personal experience it's much easier to get in as a junior. i applied last year as a sophomore and got rejected. i met with the assistant dean of admissions and he told me that since you only have a semester of college credentials showing as a sophomore applicant, the decision of admittance is based much more greatly on high school credentials....whereas when applying as junior you have 3 semesters of college credentials they can base their decision on and thus high school credentials are not as important
