It seems there were many computer “signs” last year that everyone knows about (different tabs on home page, able to create onyen, etc) and I’m sure the adm office would rather those kind of signals not exist. They were probably fixed in anticipation for this year.

seeing that last year most of the decisions were given on the 12th, it seems realistic that tomorrow could be our day.

If we have to wait, then we have to wait, and we will all have bitten fingernails for at least another 11 days :)

One person on here spoke to an admissions person who said “chapel hill will release decisions late this week” and according to the person I spoke to it would be at 4 tomorrow. The likelihood that both of these people were giving out false information is slim. I have also read places that you are required to be accepted and send in a deposit before you can make on onyen this year. So, it’s likely they fixed all the glitches from last year.

I’m pretty sure the deposit is $100, either that or $200. I might be mixing it up with the housing deposit.

As DBO said though, I wouldn’t be suprised if they fixed all the “glitches” from last year. I’m sure they have someone who browses this site and when they realized there were leaks last year, they patched them up for this year.

I’m black and I received that same Diversity email today at 5:25pm. Edit: The same Diversity team sent me a “Happy Holidays” email with some of the same stuff back in December.

I’m the one who posted that we’d hear “late in the week”. Those were the exact words that I was told by one of the admissions directors. I’m fully confident we will know tomorrow. If I’m wrong I’ll gladly take the heat for it.

well i am a white female and didn’t get the diversity email
maxk, i wouldn’t worry just yet. it is probably an email they sent to a lot of people.

maxk88, have you ever received any emails from the diversity team? It appears myself and lboogie007 have both received stuff from them in the past, so if you never heard from them, it probably just means you weren’t in their system for whatever reason.

I don’t really think it means anything, probably just coincidence we got the email today.

Im an hispano and i got the diversity thinger. Maybe we can find out tommorow…I just got housing done at gt so the sooner i find out the more money i get back from my deposit..andiamos

From what I see here it seems as if two hispanics received the email while no other races were contacted. I haven’t really browsed the site to see if anyone else has received this email so I’m basing my thoughts on very limited information which leaves a high possibility for me being wrong.

I know what you mean Max. I was rejected from 3/4 colleges coming out of high school and the memories are starting to creep back in. Not a good feeling at all.

However, I’m hoping for a different end result and praying that the two years at a CC will pay off.

I highly doubt anyone has any idea at this point in time. I personally do not believe a “diversity team” email is a sign of acceptance. If I read correctly, some have received emails from this group since as early as December.

As for tomorrow, I’m hoping they do go ahead and release it, but nothing is for sure. I’m pretty tense about this whole situation so I know for a fact I’ll be sitting here at 4 PM hoping they release their decisions so I can get on with life LOL.

Max are you serious dude? The guy said that he was getting these emails since December. Why are you stressing out over nothing?

I’m reading this entire thread and man just to be placed in a situation where we might even have the chance to be accepted to the University of North Carolina means that we are far and above many other individuals in this country and the rest of the world.

If you or anyone else gets into UNC, well that is amazing, but if you don’t, it’s absolutly fine. Boundaries and obstacles are just filters to really identify those who want it and how badly you want it (Whatever that ‘it’ is). If you keep trying, it will work out. And by trying I mean not trying to gain acceptance to a university, but trying to follow whatever you want to pursue at UNC or any school. A school rejection will never stop you from following your passions.

You know, throughout this whole process I think how much of this will really matter in five or ten years from now. If you think about it, did all the stress you put yourself through in middle school have any importance on who and where you are today? Not really.

Life is what you make of it and if someone has a passion or a want, a school is not going to be the factor to determine how far and to what affect you follow through with it, it’s what you, yourself, does that will determine it.
