Anyone else get an email saying they haven't received a transcript? I told my high school counselor to send another one a while back, and I can only assume that they haven't gotten it yet. They're threatening to withdraw or render a decision on my application as a result. It's absolutely ridiculous.

nice 666th post. I got an e-mail saying the same thing but about other missing items on my transcript. I sent them last week though so it shouldn't be a problem.

Just have them sent again, I think they said the deadline is like the 10th of April so you have plenty of time.

I'm only concerned because it seems like UNC is being harsh about it. It's not really my fault at all. The counselor should have sent it (twice even). I think it's premature, they probably haven't sorted through all the materials.

Hi all! Just thought I'd join in as I too am anxiously awaiting a letter from them (for the second time I might add lol, I was denied freshman acceptance).

Currently attend UConn (sophomore standing), but would enter as sophomore.
4.8 high school G.P.A. (weighted)
3.6 college G.P.A.
SAT- CR-730 W-720 M-570
ACT- 30

I really, REALLY hope they don't wait until the 21st to let us know, because if I'm in, I'm going to need to get a moving van and head all the way back down to FL for the summer (where my fam is) before heading to NC in the fall. And my apartment up here is already bugging me about renewing my lease. :(

Anybody have any idea if they tend to mail the decisions out a little early?? I know when I applied as a freshman I got my denial letter a full month ahead of when they said to expect notice...just wondering if anybody had heard the same regarding transfers?

someone posted in another thread that last year they came out around the 12th or something. The 21st is probably just a safety net for them.

Cool. :) I figured it would work like that. Not getting my hopes up or anything, but I'm very, very anxious to just get some definitive word from them either way. I'm one of those people who is used to being able to apply early decision lol I hate being stuck in limbo so late in the year!!!! :(

Yeah, you're not the only one. I'm actually hearing back from three schools total within that 1-2 week period. It's going to be pretty hectic!

stone where else are you expecting to hear from at that point? Chicago?

Yep, Chicago and Wustl shortly after. Although I've kind of decided already that unless WUSTL gives me an awesome fin. aid package(not very likely) or I get accepted to Chicago(also unlikely haha), I'm probably going to UNC. Maybe Davidson but I won't know until May about that one.

I just thoroughly researched last years transfer thread, and here are some things that I was able to conclude:

-decisions were announced on Thursday, April 12th at 4pm, via your UNC homepage thing. at that point, everyone had something at the top of the page that read "Important updates just for you"
-at least two days before April 12th, a "Student" tab showed up on accepted student's page, next to the existing "My UNC" tab that everyone has.
-at least two days before April 12th, accepted people were able to create an Onyen account, while not accepted people were not able to.
-there were some icons at the top of the page that changed occasionally. the only one that appeared to be indicative of acceptance was if you had the housing one (laptop, address, health, financial aid, didn't mean anything)
-some of the accepted people reported being able to find themselves in the UNC directory for a bit, but then having their name removed. i'm not really confident about this one.
-having a PID (i don't even know what that is) did not indicate anything

remember, those are things that happened last year. this year is completely new, and those may have been flaws in the system that have now been fixed. it is just what i was able to conclude off of tracking what the people were posting the days beforehand, and then which ones got in and which ones didn't. obviously, since that is an extremely unofficial analysis, i wouldn't get too excited or too bummed either way. good luck to you all!

Wow, thanks a lot for compiling all of that!

And yes, I got all excited about the PID thing a few days ago and then found out it was meaningless. :( It's basically a personal ID number that you can access here PID Office Home Page with your social security number and birth date. It says on that site that people usually get issued a PID as part of the application and financial aid process, which bummed me out because I thought I was onto something when it told me I had one. :(

But at least now this tells us a little more about what the updates on the My UNC section might look like. Thanks again. Good info!

Yeah, thanks for compiling all of that, it's very helpful.

so when are decisions this year? any idea?

april 21st i believe

Hey All!

I am currently a sophomore at UNCW applying as a Junior at UNC. I applied last year and was wait-listed.

HS GPA 3.86-top 10%
SAT: 1180

College GPA: 3.59

What are my chances???

Sorry, I forgot to add that I am Filipino (I don't know if that matters).

this is excellent! thank you for putting that all together! it's great for everyone to keep on top of updates and keep one another posted in this stressful time. :)

hopefully they'll come out early!

Yes...No...Maybe???

^the average accepted transfer GPA is a 3.4, and yours is higher than that so I think you have a good shot...or at least I hope so because your stats are similar to mine.

NCsmooth, are you positive that the average gpa of accepted transfer students was 3.4? i have a 3.41, but my HS record sucks so im def. getting rejected
