According to an article last year from UNC's GAA website, yes, 3.4 was the average accepted transfer gpa...so I guess your gpa is at least competitive. Your HS record may be more a concern if you are a sophomore transfer. But again, I'm far from an expert on this stuff.

my best chance is to stay at my current university sophomore year then apply to unc because then my HS record wont be as important

I've already posted but I figured I would again.

HS GPA-3.67(weighted)
SAT- Verbal-620 Math-560 Writing-640
College GPA- 3.78 (I am in my second semester, will have 32 credits at end of second semester)
Recs-awesome
Essay- awesome

any thoughts?

I've heard that we may be hearing as soon as April 10th (thursday).

DBO... ARE YOU SERIOUS?????? I spend hours and hours (serious) wondering and counting down to my decision on the 21st and finding out earlier would be fantastic....please say its true

DBO do you have any real evidence to back this up? Can you at least say where you heard it?

I'm with you all. I find myself spending entirely too much time over-thinking the whole process and would love for it to all be over A.S.A.P.
Here's hoping you're right DBO!!

i think they came out on the 12th last year, so it isn't entirely improbable ...

The 10th would be great, I'm definitely hoping for decisions to come out at the end of next week. I'm sure they will let us know well before the 21st. I'm just ready for this to be over.

Out of curiosity, has anyone experienced any of the stuff FlyLikeAPenguin posted on the last page? Absolutely nothing has changed for me. I assume they were just glitches in the system.

Nothing has changed for me yet either.

Just for kicks, I try to create an Onyen every day, just to toy with the system and see if it lets me. I hear conflicting things about it though. Some say you can create one as soon as you're accepted, but I see lots of people who have already been accepted are having issues making them.

In any case, every day it turns me down and says I'm not authorized to make one yet, but if it ever does start working for me I'll let you all know so you can play around with it too.

As for my UNC homepage, no changes there.

Just crossing my fingers and hoping they let us know soon!!

It's a realistic source that I heard from. Also, for the past two years the decision date has been "April 21st" and each time they came out two weeks earlier, on whatever Thursday that was. So it seems that my source+logic=Thursday, April 10. If I'm wrong.....my bad...

I figure I'll add my own stats.

Major: Mathematics
Minor: English, Slavic Studies
University GPA 4.0 (Will have ~70 credits by end of year)
High School GPA: Interesting :)
Current University: UNCC
Applying as: Junior Transfer

SAT: Great.

Activities:
Section Editor of School Newspapr
Math Tutor
Olympiad Delegate
Took a bunch of graduate English courses
Various Societies, etc.
(bunch of random stuff)

I'm both excited and nervous about news of early decisions. I was informed that there was a set answer date (for financial aid reasons). I'm really excited about the English department at UNC (especially Southern Lit). Also, the Slavic Studies department...well, exists :) UNCC only has a Russian minor, and I've been interested in Russian lit for as long as I can remember. Good luck to everyone!

Note: My biggest concern is housing! Seeing that most Carolina students have already selected housing, we are left with few option for "good" housing. Eh. We'll see.

i just looked up my PID on the unc website and it says I have one but I havn't been accepted, does everyone get them or what, im applying as a sophomore transfer.

Nevermind false alarm i guess everyone who applies gets them

yes, everyone who applies can get a PID.

thanks for the heads up DBO, I hope you're right!

Okay guys, so I logged into my UNC homepage this morning and there was a message saying "Important Updates Just for You." But when I tried to click through and see this said update, the page essentially just refreshed and the message disappeared. I tried checking my status and everything and it was all giving me the same old same old "Your application is complete" stuff. So the bottom line is, nothing really changed. But I still found it weird that that message popped up. Anybody else experienced this? Good sign? Bad sign? Meaningless?
:/

It sounds like it's just a glitch or something. I just checked mine and didn't get anything out of the ordinary...

i didn't have anything changed on my homepage, nor can i create an onyen. still trying, just in case.

What are everyone's stats?
