Some people suggested putting in a few sentences from one (or more) of your essays to supplement your stats. I think that's a great idea.

Meatloaf will be frowned upon,
while tofu is marginally acceptable.

~ATTENTION: In addition to the above data, please post your favorite sentence from your UChicago essay. If you want to give more information about your essay, such as which prompt you responded to and your specific topic, please do.~

Stats:[ul]
[] SAT: Didn't take, took ACT. My best was a 27.

[] Rank: 33 out of 535 or 525.
[] Other stats:
[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Essays: I chose the fifth option and made my own prompt which asked me to define myself and the traits and qualities that make me who I am. My essay was very family-centered.
[] Teacher Recs: Well, since I got accepted (Yay!!), I'm pretty sure they were good.
[] Counselor Rec: I was pretty sure my counselor rec. was going to be good, and I'm sure it was because I got accepted (yay!).

Stats:[ul]
[] SAT: 2170 (700M/800CR/670W)
[] SAT IIs: 800 Bio E / 780 Lit / 730 Math IIC / 730 Physics
[] GPA: 101.5 or so weighted? (We don't operate on a 4.0 scale and I'm too lazy at the moment to find a conversion tool...)
[] Rank: 1/85ish
[] Other stats: My school has no APs, so in lieu of those, I've taken classes at my local colleges and one at UChicago itself. In total, I've amassed about 36 credit hours with a 4.0.
[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Essays: The two shorter prompts were okay, but I'm very pleased with the extended one. I chose topic #2 and wrote about an Ecuadorian village that I had the incredible luck to live in two summers ago while I built a school there.
[] Sample Line: The village sits atop one of the area’s higher hills, so when one looks beyond the slopes of sugar cane and palms, all one can see are the surrounding hills and mountains appearing like green islands in a sea of grey clouds.
[] Teacher Recs: Should have been very good-- I have a very close relationship with two out of the three teachers I had write them. (Er, obviously sent a supp rec, too...)
[] Counselor Rec: Likewise-- we know each other very well, both in school and out of school.
[] Hook (if any): None, really.

[] Essays: I think my two shorter ones were pretty bland . . . I wrote my main essay about the Rubik's Cube. here's an excerpt:
[quote]
Notorious for its ability to frustrate, the Cube has caused an untold number of sleepless nights, due to either unconscious anxiety or untold hours spent trying to master its manifold intricacies. There were a few points during the learning process when an overwhelming urge to smash the cube into smithereens swept over me (another reason I’m glad to be confined to a bedroom with padded walls!).
