So if they only offered me 10 quarters of FinAid, but my credit evaluation estimated that I would need 12 quarters to complete a degree, does that mean that I will have no financial aid for two quarters?? I thought you had to reapply every year for Finaid anyway!

Does anyone know if it’s possible to take the bus from Stony Island to campus?

sofy, perhaps you should call UChicago just to make sure that there isn’t an unresolved issue that’s delaying your evals. Are you an international transfer? Because international mail tends to be very slow. did you receive your acceptance package?

20sticks, there is a bus that stops in front of Stony Island and it will take you directly to campus. (Source: an individual in the housing department)

girigiri, you should call the senior adviser (his name and number are listed on the credit eval letter that you received). I am not sure how many of your courses will transfer and therefore I don’t know how many courses you have completed. But i can say that if you have atleast 9 courses completed that will transfer, then that would make you a sophmore upon entering Uchicago. Therefore, you will only need 9 quarters if you take the advised 3-4 courses per quarter in order to graduate on time. As far as financial aid is concerned, yes, you would reapply every year, but I am assuming that the estimate that they provided you is suppose to be a guide that tells you how much aid the college is prepared to give you during the time that you are enrolled. so, i think that the office of aid is telling you that they are only planning on offering you 10 quarters of aid in total.

For all of you who are UChicago bound, Chicago transportation is really rather convenient. I spent some time there last semester and found this link to be a must-have:

[Plan Your Trip With the RTA!](http://tripsweb.rtachicago.com/)

Good luck and I hope you enjoy Chicago as much as I did.

Rhode,

I live in California and I never received my acceptance packet I wonder if they sent it to my school but I was at my school a solid 10 days after I was accepted…my mail is supposed to be forwarded but who knows

Ack! I hope they didn’t make a mistake and I was really rejected :(

no no, sofy I am sure you weren’t rejected. It sounds like there may have been a mix up with the post office. I highly suggest that you call UChicago as soon as possible to get everything straightened out. If you are unable to get someone right away leave a message, the office is very prompt about returning messages.

haha, thanks for the support Rhode! I emailed Andre and everything is being sorted.

Now uh…I just need to choose a school.

How did you get hold of Andr

girigiri,

I emailed him via the admissions website twice now and he responded quite quickly to my questions I’m sorry you haven’t been able to reach him!

It says I have 12 quarters remaining and 36 units left to complete. I believe this gives me sophomore standing?

Yep. That’s sophomore.

Now I feel out of place. I have 9-10 quarters remaining with 29 units left to complete.

AAHHH, we have two days to decide!

anyone else MEGA confused about the course catalogue and general education requirements?! ack I don’t want to take calculus!

when do we get our email addresses?

Hello all! I discovered this thread back in january and tried hard not to read it until I got in. However, now that I am accepted, deposited, and have a Chicago bumper sticker on my car, I want to acknowledge my presence. I’ve read every post here at least three times since May 7, and I look forward to meeting all of you in the fall!

"In a short while we will mail you a letter from Ted O’Neill, Dean of Admissions, confirming the receipt of the appropriate documents, including your enrollment deposit.

If you do not hear from us within two weeks, please send me an email, or call me so that I can check on the status of your reply to the offer of admission."

Did anyone receive the letter from Ted O’Neill? I haven’t received anything yet and I’m kind of worried.

I haven’t received anything either
