Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.): Aspergers?

Reflection:
Strengths: Level of involvement in extracurriculars, GPA, took hardest math and science courses I could given limited offerings, level of interest? (I’ve been networking with people at UConn since like 6th grade, been to open house, etc.)
Weaknesses: multiple low math SAT scores, no volunteer work, “easy” junior year
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Interest I guess, I probably had no business getting in without it. Average applicant otherwise.
General Comments on decision: UConn is (and always was!) my dream school, for sure. I’m thrilled, to say the least
Will you attend(yes, maybe, no)?: This is where it gets tough. I probably won’t get any merit aid because of my SAT score, and the OOS tuition is going to make it REALLY hard to attend if I don’t get much aid. It would kill me to say no to basically a lifelong dream, but I have to wait and see financially if it’s even possible. :frowning:

Applied for Financial Aid?: Si, si.
Intended Major: History
State (if domestic applicant): CT
Country (if international applicant): USA
School Type: semi-rural, pretty small (around 600 students)
Ethnicity: the whitest person you know
Gender: lady
Income Bracket: ~$30,000, I believe.
Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.): first generation

[Reflection:]
Strengths: My CR score, APUSH score, and my essay. I’m a solid A and B honors student, so I’m sure that didn’t hurt.
Weaknesses: My math on the SAT, oh how I agonized over that. My first go I got a 590, which looked awful next to my CR 800 and W 730. I took it again and got lower scores on CR and W but bumped M up to a 630, which still isn’t awesome, but hey, I’m gunning for a history degree.
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I’m really proud of my essay and my critical reading scores!
General Comments on decision: I’m excited to have four for four applications to acceptances!
Will you attend(yes, maybe, no)?: Possibly? My mom’s really pushing it because she wants me to stick around nearby, but I’m not thrilled with the location or the general vibe of the campus itself from when I’ve visited (not on a tour, but on field trips and for conventions and stuff). It’s also just too familiar and too close, and I want my college experience to be a bit more of an adventure! So, it’s not UConn, it’s me. However, it’s still definitely a possibility, and I think I’d still be happy at UConn if I do choose it. It all depends on how financial aid goes, I suppose.
