***Official University of Michigan Class of 2015 Decisions Thread***

Didn’t people last year who turned there applications in late get accepted early and those who turned in early got their acceptances late due to how strong their qualifications are?

I feel like Michigan will release decisions based on how strong of an applicant you are - though date of submission will factor in. Some people are easy to accept, others easy to reject.

^ Where did you hear that from?

^What IO is referring to is the observation in past years, when the process was ROLLING, how some students would hear very quickly – usually standouts or rejects – while others might be deferred and not hear until the end of regular decision, eg. April.

On Umich’s actual reader’s summary sheet, at the bottom, there is a ranking of something like “Very High Admit” “High Admit” “Admit” “Admit with Reservation” etc. (can’t remember exact terms.)
So, people who rank as an “Admit” but not a “High Admit” might hear later than the “High Admit” because there are always more “qualified” (eg. “Admit”) candidates than there are spots.

And I/O – This year is a whole new ballgame with common app and Michgan’s changing the language on its website about when decisions are coming out, so it’s anybody’s guess how it will happen. Good luck – I know it’s a hard wait.

Ughh, I hear a lot of rumors about the 12th being the big bulk day where they give acceptances. I feel like im going to die of anxiousness before then. Okay on to Dec/2 hopefully some will be accepted, although I turned in my App the 28th of October.

I hope i get in , i love the program flexibility @ Umich and the campus.

ugh talked to admissions office today and they say most likely EVERYONE will hear on the 23rd

^ WHAT?! That’s so late ):

Everyone who applied EA will hear by the 23rd regardless, they are holding back info that is why I do not bother calling them. Hopefully we all get our emails tomorrow.

wait i’m a little confused…someone said we’re all most likely hearing on the 23rd and someone else said we’re hoping to receive our e-mails tomorrow?? ugh, i wish mich would just say exactly when we’re hearing instead of this anticipation

Man, will they email us once our decisions are released. This is going to be my first denial/acceptance and I’m really starting to get nervous. I would love to be accepted pre-admit to Ross tommorow.

Last year I know they sent an email saying to check Wolverine Access.

@UVAorBust

Even if you do get accepted to Michigan (best of luck, i’m sure you’ll be okay  ) Ross preferred admission decisions don’t get to you until 6-10 weeks after your admitted

I turned mine in just before the EA deadline so I just sort of figured I wouldn’t be hearing till the 23rd. But I still hate the waiting!

yeah I am right with you americanslang…it’s not good haha the anticipation is killer…At least I’ll know by Christmas…it would be the best present if i get accepted.

…or a lump of coal

Thank you Wolverinewiz.

Someone I know who deals with the admissions office “regularly” was told today that UM will NOT release decisions before the 23rd. Take it for what its worth and try to relax.

Eh. I don’t believe it.

its coming out tmmrw? really? by emaiL?

I call bull. There’s no way in Hades that the admissions office would do that. Wait until last minute and what, hope their system doesn’t crash and they get don’t get sued because they didn’t have decisions released when they were supposed to? Yeah, right. I definitely wouldn’t listen to that source.

For the record, this may be semantics, but they say:

If your completed application is postmarked by November 1st, your decision will be released no later than December 23rd.

It’s “no later than,” not “on.”

Stuff that outlandish should be confirmed before being posted.

In past years, the last round of decisions in December were in fact on the 23rd; don’t assume that it’s not the case this year that everyone will hear then…
