<p>I figured it would be tough to get in without AP’s or IB credit, but what can you do if your high school doesn’t offer any? That’s why I decided to do the dual-credit option at a nearby university. I had lots of EC’s and held several leadership positions in school organizations, and of course maintained a 4.0. Also lettered and captained in 2 varsity sports while making nationals in discus. My essays reflected the passion I have for studying and working overseas (hopefully for the US government). Not sure how or why I was accepted, the candidate pool at UM is as fierce as anywhere, but I feel blessed and will make the most of my opportunity. Best wishes to all.</p>
