@NCXfer They do that for all LSA majors (I presume, at least, happened to me, and I am Economics too).
OMG I’m still waiting… Are they gonna release the batches after the deposit deadline??
I am applying for next year’s deadline. What are the best ways to stand out? I am applying for general studies in LSA, does that give me an advantage?
Hey everyone! I was accepted for transfer as a sophomore from MSU back in February.
Does UM carry your GPA from your old institution to your UM GPA. Or do you re-start with a new GPA of only the courses you took at UM?
It’s been bothering me a lot and I can’t figure it out.
@transfergirl2015 I think the GPA gets reset, only the credits carry over.
@transfergirl2015 what were your numbers… college GPA, credits, SAT?
Just found out today I’ve been accepted to the COE so yes, decisions are still being released!
which branch @solaratmidnight
will u be a sophomore or junior
@Manunited0901 aerospace. I think I’ll be a junior, but I’m from an oos community college and there’s no existing course equivalencies from my school so i will have to see how many credits they take.
nicee congrats
@eyo777 I posted it a bit back but to prevent you having to look through the entire thread here they are:
•HS GPA: 3.92
•Act: 26
•Freshman at MSU with 3.89 gpa (after fall semester)
•40 transferable credits (11 IB, 13 fall semester, 16 spring)
•1 letter of rec
•Applied summer term. Sent transcripts and application in early January.
•Heard back February 10th
My last post meant to be for @walter03 my bad lol
Do you guys know if they will send the admission letter again if I told them the first address is wrong (I’m F-1 students and not sure why I put my home-country’s address when I’m living in the US…)
Do you guys know once we admitted,if we could change school from LSA to Ross?
@udontknow No, there’s an entirely separate application to the School of Business.

Hi guys,
I am trying to apply to UM-AA CoE for 2016 of Fall. I am currently at an Oakland Community College campus finishing up with all of the prerequisites by the end of this year. Is there anything else I should be aware of in terms of trying to transfer from OCC to UMICH?
Also, another thing, someone on another thread you should try to get your associates before transferring, but that didn’t register much sense from my understanding. I thought the best thing to do was finish the prerequisites with the highest grades you can achieve and apply from there, any information on this proposition?
I have about a 3.7-3.8 GPA; I expect it will go up a bit after my summer classes.
I am applying for Phi Theta Kappa
I also co-oped for 6 months at an engineering firm in Michigan.
Sorry if this isn’t extremely relevant, but I would appreciate any advice/help you guys could offer me.
heyy guys, does anyone know if withdrawing from a course would affect my offer of admission? The class is neither prerequisite nor required. I really bombed the midterm, and i want to drop it with W.
Any idea if that would revoke my admission?
reject for ME on Monday. I was really bummed, umich was my first choice. but its okay I got into Cornell ME, just waiting to hear from GTech and then i’ll fully be able to make my decision! At least i don’t have to pay the ann arbor plane ride to decide schools haha
@minatoelric Do you mind posting your stats?
HS: pretty strong public school
HS GPA: 2.7
College GPA: 3.986
College: out of state community college honors program
ECs: really strong. helped start a nonprofit. leader of a volunteer team. helped start a math competition team. President of STEM club. State medalist in high school rowing team. literally so much other stuff i don’t feel like listing it.
ACT: 33 composite, 34 super score
SAT Subject Test: 710 Math 1, 750 Math 2, 700 physics (took it before taking physics 2), 620 Chemistry (took it before taking chem 2)
Essays: so strong they got me Jack Kent Cooke, a scholarship for over $200,000
I think they reason they didn’t accept me is they feel they didn’t have enough room and they don’t respect out of state community colleges, i got into Cornell because Cornell asked for my syllabi and course material, Michigan didn’t. They got my transcript so late and never told me, they got it on March 24, over a month and a half after the application was due. You gotta fedex it to them early, most community colleges aren’t used to sending them and most schools just don’t get them. Really annoying.
