Official University of Michigan Transfer Thread for Fall 2015

@thegr3atest‌ , last year transfer applicants were receiving acceptance letters as early as two weeks. Although, you don’t know if they were telling the truth. I would hope they were. We shall see!! I think most of us will hear back within the month of March.

Units/credits, sorry haha. I remember reading somewhere that if you had under 55 units, then they still consider your high school transcripts more heavily, is this true?

Just got my UM-ID! Its exciting but scary at the same time

The office of undergraduate admissions is closed today because of the weather, which means an extra day of waiting. ugh…

@ShuttlepilotND‌ I did too! I am a bit irritated though because it says they have determined out of state tuition for me, which makes no sense because I have lived in Michigan since I was 12. AND…they are closed today so I can’t call and straighten it out.
@NCXfer‌ Like I said, you have an excellent chance. I will not be surprised if you are accepted. Think good thoughts and stay positive. As long as you demonstrate an upward trend, you are in the clear!
@klaus1216‌ Thanks for the info, I would have been trying to call them all day. Lol

@fn1518‌ in the email with my umid it says i need to send a list of the courses, and credits of the classes im taking from january-may, how would i send that? Thru email? Also im oos, so its even harder for me.

@ShuttlepilotND‌ You already have when you filled out the common app. Remember the part that made you list all courses that you took and will take for the whole year?

Yea i remember that, but this is asking for course name, number, credit hours and institutions where I’ll be taking them. Is that the same thing? I didnt put the institutions where i will be taking the classes so i have to send them an email about that. Im taking 4 classes at three different institutions because they’re not offered at my current college.

when did you guys apply, because I applied on 1/31. I haven’t received my umid

I applied at 1am PST on 1/29

I applied Feb 1st and haven’t received my UMID. Does it come through mail or e-mail?

It comes thru email, mine took 3 days, today was a snow day at umich so admissions was closed, you should hear back this week

@ShuttlepilotND‌ Aren’t they listed on your transcripts when you sent those over? Perhaps call them tomorrow to confirm. I will ask when I call about the oos misunderstanding.

By the way, good luck everyone! This waiting game is going to drive me insane. Lol

Thanks @fn1518‌ i will call them tomorrow. Good luck to everyone as well!

Sorry to keep bugging you guys, but this is my first time applying to umich, where in WA is it supposed to say ‘complete’ or that my documents have arrived with the date? I’ve checked the application data and it doesn’t have that information, and in view credentials under other required materials theres nothing there. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

@ShuttlepilotND‌ In the email that gives you your UMID they explain that if nothing is listed under required materials then they have received everything. You are good to go.

They received my transcript on 01/05, completing my application. Then on 01/30 Wolverine Access showed that I was accepted! I got the email on 02/01!
Again, here are my stats.

HS GPA: 3.4
College GPA: 4.0
ACT: 27
Phi Theta Kappa Honor’s Society, Dean’s List, Legacy.
Volunteer at my church, work at a Biggby Coffee, and will have 44 credits at the end of the year.

Good luck, everybody!

@ctalbot17 do you mind sharing what program you applied for. and are you in state? Thank You! Congrats

@ctalbot17 You heard back already?? Wow, thats insane! Congrats and welcome to Michigan!

Really hoping my gf hears back sooner rather than later. The wait is killing her… She submitted her app around 1/12 so hopefully soon.
