Official University of Pennsylvania Class of 2015 ED Decisions Thread

has anyone received an official e mail from Penn yet ??

About 2/3 of the CC applicants got accepted. That is an absolutely insane statistic. Great job.

Holy cow, Penn. Congratulations on all of the acceptances!

My kid was deferred.

GPA 4.98/5.33
GPA after freshman year 5.14/5.33
Rank - Top 5% overall
Rank - Top 2% after freshman year

(His high school is a tough place, as pretty much everybody in the top 10% is an Ivy caliber student with 99th percentile ACT scores.)

ACT - 35

Taking 6 AP classes currently, always had the toughest possible schedule

5 Varsity letters, including being on State champ soccer team and competing in State finals for track.

Studies piano at a music academy.

Legacy.

Things have changed. In my day, no legacy with a test score that was higher than the university average would ever get rejected. Legacies got cut big breaks.

An athlete he knows got accepted … ACT 28 (on the third attempt), 3.5 UW, has never taken an AP class. The athlete thing is different alright.

Posting for my son

CAS

…way too excited to post stats now.

@madalyn2011, I totally agree, this is the best Christmas gift I could ask for.

For accepted students, do we have to send in a mid-year report in Feb? Or is that just for deferred students?

no, accepted students definitely have to submit a mid-year report, they want to make sure you haven’t completely quit at school, and if you have, they can rescind your application.

How do we submit a mid-year report? Does our counselor just know to do it?

Depends on your school. Just check with him and let him know.
