Official University of Pennsylvania ED 2007 Decisions

Philadelphia suburb and i'm another wharton hopeful....lol i wish there werent so many wharton people here

Ha, shooting a 100% so far though.

Are we all wondering what each other's credentials are? I know I am kind of, but you don't want to hear all of these really crazy accomplishments that put yours to shame.

Hahaha so true, koeslaw.

gosh being on CC is such a humbling experience
I have a few good points, some hooks
but then I find some dude that's nationally ranked in fencing
and then I don't feel so good anymore :/

There aren't too many people that are national winners, so don't get too worked up over it.

huntsmaniac, you mean last year?
I actually hope that it is the magic formula this year as well

Those just so happen to be the weakest part of my application. If it was based on 800 Reading/ Writing and most rigorous course load with high scoring APs on the other hand...

Last year I was going to apply to Wharton, this year I applied ED to the College as a pre-med, chem major. How things change. But you guys at Wharton, good luck, there are soooo many of you applying this year. What are your credentials like, if anyone wants to share. There is this kid who applied to Wharton from my school, 2170/1420, 700's on SATII's, soccer all state, tennis all section, and other than that no EC's. Mostly A's in all honors classes, with a B+ in H English. Also a legacy; father went to Wharton for MBA. What do you think his chances for getting in are. I mean in a weird he is my competition so I'm curious as to what you guys think.

I'm going to have to say that the grades cannot guarantee you, nor can being all state. I know a lot of people might have the SAT scores to get in and a nice GPA, but what I think it comes down to are the recommendations and the essays. Sure if you have a killer connection or are recruited by scouts for sports, your chances will be up, but that might be the only way to know for sure these days. Just say a prayer, and if you don't get it, don't get too worked up about it.

I think that soooo many people send a lot of time trying to find a way to make the "perfect" application, but in reality its so hard to figure out the admissions process for schools like penn, and that's what makes it so frustrating. We have no idea what they are looking for or what they want, but we've definately worked hard during high school and now we just have to sit and wait. Plus, I believe that you should find a college that fits you, and not try to fit in a college that just might not be for you.
So I wish everyone the best and hope that everyone ends up in a college that makes them happy, whether it be penn or not. :)

Yeah, for me, I just really fell in love with Penn when I visited, and that's why I want to go there. It's not all about the name; I felt that I fit in. I mean the fact that it is a great school is definitely a factor, but it is the great school that I clicked with more than any other. It has the programs I'm looking for and the perfect location. Good luck to everyone...One week left.

i didnt apply to penn early but my friend did and she is very confused about how everyone is finding out. did the people who already got their decisions get something in the mail telling them that they would find out on that day? aren't you supposed to find out online on the 14th at 5PM?

^no one got a decision yet

did you read the title of the thread?

Good luck to all you ED applicants!

^Wow thanks, good luck to you too

I should start filling out other applications but ahhh, I kinda wanna just wait for my decision :(

yeah, same here :(. I hope we won't have to write any more essays on December 14th :p

i tried to write my "why i want to go to lehigh" essay today and all i could think of was that i dont want to go to lehigh

I can't believe we have 4 more school days left until we find out. Good luck to everyone, and if you don't get into Penn, may you get into the right school for you.
