****OFFICIAL University of Pennsyvlania CLASS OF 2019 ED Applicants Discussion Thread****

Hey all,

I’ve been stalking this thread for forever and decided it’s about time I join the convo, with ~69 (lol) hours until decisions are announced. So I see we have Huntsman hopefuls, Wharton wannabes, CAS candidates and international inquiries so far. Any biomedical engineering majors out there? Also any other female engineering hopefuls? Heheh gotta know where my nerd sisters are at.

Going to school all day on Monday is going to be hellish to say the least. Time to break out the cookie dough.

I wish you all good luck in your admissions (It’d be great if we all got accepted) but until then have this:

Happy waiting!

@December 11 As the mom of an 18-year-old who’s also busted his *ss the past four years, many of the sentiments you shared about your high school journey sound familiar. You set high goals for yourself and you’ve done everything you can to maximize your chances of getting into your dream school. No matter what happens on Monday, you should be proud that you challenged yourself and gave it your all. Don’t live with regrets! The truth is, you and every other brilliant and talented student will never know exactly what made the difference between acceptance or rejection. It’s probably not going to be a typo in an essay or the fact that you forgot to include NHS in your college app. I’ve read many of the chance posts and cannot believe how many kids with perfect GPA’s, high test scores, EC’s, volunteer hours, etc, are worried that they haven’t done enough to get into Penn or other selective schools. You’ve done all you can do. Don’t let Monday’s decision define who you are. (My son doesn’t read CC but I’ve told him the same thing. He’s applying ED to Penn and is hoping to get into one of the dual degree programs) Good luck to everyone!

@EmpressofMars‌ alliteration game strong :D

SO extremely nervous for Monday, you guys! :/

@EmpressofMars‌ I applied to Bioengineering as well :smiley:

If you want to take your mind off of the decision, while still talking about Penn, go to the UPenn Class of 2019 Facebook page and partake in the most entertainingly stupid discussions about the college app process that you can imagine. You don’t know the real meaning of trolling until you’ve seen this page.

@EmpressofMars 1.) Love your choice in video lol. 2.) I’m a girl who applied for SEAS (undecided) :)>-

Hi guys. I applied ED to Cornell and got deferred. I just wanted to let you all know that no matter what happens, it will be okay. Today in school was the worst day of my life. Everyone apologizing and such was awful. But I’m starting to get over it, and I’m starting to feel much better.

Good luck all of you

Hey guys, since requirements state that subject sats not req if we send act, would they look more favourably towards the app if you send in subject as well, or does it not matter? Because I always felt that act was undermined.

<a href=“MARINA AND THE DIAMONDS - Happy [Official Audio] - YouTube”>MARINA AND THE DIAMONDS - Happy [Official Audio] - YouTube;

I’ll be listening to this on D-Day, no matter what the decision is. :)

@EmpressofMars‌ I am also a female bioengineering hopeful! Nerd girls united. Happy waiting to all!

@priya97‌ If you’ve taken the ACT and other subject tests, Penn wants to see EVERYTHING, so I’d say just send them in (I doubt they’d know if you took the SAT and didn’t submit, but it’s a chance Im not willing to take). However, if your on the fence about taking ANY SAT subject tests as in you’ve never taken another SAT test ever, then I’d say don’t bother taking the subject test, and the ACT will suffice.

This is really random. But I emailed an assistant admissions officer back in October thanking him for his info session and asking a question about Penn. He replied but I didn’t feel a need to thank him again so I didn’t respond back. I didn’t realize he was a legit AO until I saw this article he wrote about Penn19 a few days ago…is it rude that I didn’t respond?

i hate this

I doubt he/she would realize that you forgot to thank them. You probably should have replied but admissions officers probably gets a lot of emails everyday so they wouldn’t notice

@madridista1902 this is totally random but real madrid is my life haha

@Coolboy1997 LOL me too dude!

Wel’l all be fine. Don’t stress yourselves too much; we will all be admitted to amazing colleges and should not worry. Happy waiting to all of us!

@presque‌ I’m a Barca fan. Annoyed that they couldn’t put Getafe away.

@dhizzy‌ Objectively, separating myself from my crazy madridista super fan form, I really didn’t think this was going to be a good season for Madrid, a pretty clear-cut liga title for Barca, just because of all the ridiculous purchases we made over the summer (and Alonso??? Seriously?? I literally have three of his jerseys??). I was pretty sure our midfield was going to explode with all the talent, and our defense was going to collapse in on itself and just die. Which it is still doing––but I mean we are going strong, so I guess I’m pretty happy right now.

So objectively, sorry about your team’s performance. I didn’t watch the game, but my apps tell me Barca dominated in possession. We all have those days /:
