****OFFICIAL University of Pennsyvlania CLASS OF 2019 ED Applicants Discussion Thread****

Back to my original question, did everyone get a financial aid confirmation or missing documents email?

@Millian‌ I got a financial aid confirmation way back in early november. No missing docs email. Don’t read into these things, they don’t mean anything unless you actually forgot to send in your stuff.

@Millian‌ I did not get a confirmation or a missing documents email, and I had submitted the stuff on November 1st. I got a confirmation saying that I submitted the PFAS, and from CollegeBoard saying that I submitted the CSS, but I didn’t get like any cumulative email saying that I completed all the financial aid documents (I’m not sure if such an email was sent out, but I’m assuming that’s what people are talking about with the confirmation emails).

@Millian‌ Important note: I got the financial aid email after I had contacted the office there to ask them if all was in order. On my Penn portal it asked me to fill out financial aid forms and that confused me so I emailed them about it.

@Millian I got a confirmation email right after sending in my penn financial aid supplement and then I got a confirmation email around mid November from Sharla for all the required forms.

@Ghost95 I would want to see the notification as well!! :)

Is anyone else holding back on writing supplements for other schools cause they’re banking on a Penn acceptance? Bc literally me all weekend. -___- help.

@dhizzy‌ @Kognition‌ Thanks you for the reassurance. I submitted it after Nov 3rd so that might be a problem. They can’t just not give me financial aid if I get in … I hope.
@pianogeek‌ I wish I started other apps.

Haha same @pianogeek … I haven’t sent in any of the financial aid forms yet, but I haven’t gotten any emails. Has anyone this year actually gotten a missing forms email?

@PassionIsAll People like you give me hope.

Is anyone else wondering why only like 60% of Penn students receive aid. I would presume it to be more because they are need blind. My friends has a theory that they pick more from private schools cuz they secretly know that they can afford to pay. I dunno… this need blind stuff is fishy.

@PassionIsAll‌ It doesn’t really seem like anyone’s gotten a missing forms email this year; not sure if they even send it for ED applicants until the last moment.

@Millian Haha glad I could give you hope! Everyone on here is so hung up on “early signs” of rejection/acceptance… We should all just take it easy and wait for Monday!

@Kognition I agree… I don’t think they send that out until the RD deadline… If I’m not mistaken.

@pianogeek‌ Congratulations to all Leos then!

@PassionIsAll‌ I’m in the same boat

i got a “financial aid received” confirmation email that also said “You will be notified by the office once all of your financial aid application documents have been completed and reviewed.” but i was never notified. sigh

I wonder if despite being need blind they try to guess how much financial aid a candidate will possibly need. As in for instance, favoring someone who goes to a fancy private school in manhattan to a public school kid from a less comfortable area… What do you guys think?

Did anyone get the confirmation email from Sharla?? @berryyoga I got that email right after sending it in, was that the same with you?

Yeah most people got the final confirmation I believe. It means nothing though regarding admission because I received mine 11/17 and that would have been way too early to make any decision on me.

Guys the confirmation email doesn’t mean anything. And no one got a missing financial aid email either (I think this is only for RD kids).
