[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: “One of the defining characteristics of a Rochester student is an obsessive drive towards one or two specific interests. When faced with requirements and when asked to do something that he/she does not want to do, a typical Rochester student is resistant, even defiant, and we like that about them. Our students more closely resemble college professors in that way than they do average college students.” —From a Rochester admissions guy
[/li]

Basically, he defined me.
[/ul]General Comments:
I’m from Sunny San Diego in California and am terrified for the cold! XD I love new experiences though, it’ll be a great adventure! I love Rochester and I know it is the perfect fit because of the awesome open curriculum and liberal setting.

Country (if international applicant):

Reflection
Strengths: Good essay, sent art supplement
Weaknesses: didn’t interview, only took SAT and ACT once and without much/any practice- I could have done better
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: besides the weaknesses, i am just too average- not outstanding enough when there is such a huge group of applicants

General Comments:

Rochester was one of my two top choices and I really wanted to go. But I kind of learned that grades don’t mean everything in this process- your experiences- and the things you are passionate about- are just as important, as I learned from a classmate who’s going this year :)
It may have been too expensive anyway for me, though, to go here, since I know I’ll need to also go to grad school.
If it helps, I was also waitlisted at Colgate, Hamilton, and Marist.
Accepted at Binghamton, Albany, and Union. (I’m attending Binghamton)

Good luck to those who are waiting and and future applicants!
