Last year, I was admitted into Cornell. I remember that I was able to log into housing and that meant that we were accepted! Granted, this trick isn’t sure for Penn, but it’s worth a try!

Here’s the link for Penn’s housing:

https://www.admissions.upenn.edu/decisions/mydecision.php

are any of you able to log in?

I wasn’t able to, but Penn is normally pretty good about blocking you from the mydecision site because nothing is uploaded on there until the day of decisions…

Did you end up at Cornell? I got a GT as a high school senior (disappointing because I got into similar caliber schools), but I am attending it if my other transfers don’t work out

@MJG678 - Unfortunately, I didn’t go to Cornell. I got in as a transfer applicant CAS. They did not give me any aid at all so I had to stay at my current university. However, I did work harder on my Penn essay this time around so…we will see! At least you have a good fallback school, congrats!

Just curious, but what other schools you were accepted as a high school senior? where are you now?

I PMed you! I figured it was easier.

I applied to Biological Basis of Behavior in CAS

I applied to Wharton as a sophomore transfer. Although I might as well be considered for junior standing because by the end of the Spring Term I will have completed all the required courses for junior transfer students.

After two terms/quarters at Dartmouth I currently have a 4.0 GPA. I did not apply last year because I applied and was accepted to Dartmouth ED. Good luck everyone!

i notice that pretty much all wharton transfers are already from a prestigious school/ivy. errr :(

I’m not sure if coming from an Ivy could help or hurt you…In a sense, it could help bc you are coming from an equal school. but, it can hurt because you are already in a good school…it’s complicated. I think that articulating your reasons well should be enough…so idk. What do you ivy league students say about this?

anyone heard anything from Penn at all?

I emailed e apps yesterday and got an automated response:

"I will be out of the office until Wednesday, April 18.

I will be checking emails."

interesting… lol, I am calling next week to ask when we will get decisions, although I haven’t had luck when I call them.

Is it true only 25 external transfers matriculate to Wharton each year? I’m sure at most 30-35 external transfer applicants get in with certain applicants not matriculating due to cost or getting into Harvard, Yale, Stanford, etc.

@AvidStudent I don’t believe they release the official number, but when I spoke to my admissions counselor, I was told somewhere around 20-25 externals get in to Wharton (they prefer people transferring in as sophomores).

@MJG678 let us know when you call!

@cudreams,

According to past threads a poster who got in and matriculated to Wharton as a transfer said something very similar to what you said. 20 sophomore transfers and 5 junior transfers. Luckily, I am a sophomore transfer, but 20 out of how many sophomore applicants? The thread poster also posted, albeit uncited and outdated (2008), said there were 500 applicants (sophomore + junior) transfers.
