Curious here, when are decisions actually expected to be released. I know the standard mid-may/may 15th dates, but has a specific date been set yet?

@omgitsjustin The “drop out rate” for engineering is more tied with people realizing they don’t actually enjoy studying the topic, nothing about the student’s actual academic potential. I know at Virginia Tech that roughly 67% of the people who start as engineering graduate with a degree in it. I can imagine they lose quite a bit of students from people transferring internally (to business probably) and what not. Otherwise, they wouldn’t need to accept transfer applicants.

Yes, the Penn Portal website says that they will be released on May 13 on 3:00 PM. The tension is killing me

I don’t know if this is good or bad because I have finals from 4-8:30 on May 13th. Should I check before or after?

I would probably check before if I was you because you would just spend the test worrying about if you got admitted or not or at least I would if I had a test that day lol

Hi marty I’m applying as a cs major too… At this point there is nothing much to do anymore so let’s hope for the best!!

Does anyone know the deadline to fill out the penn financial aid supplement?

@courts I’m pretty sure they were all supposed to be turned in (the supplement, the tax forms, fasfa, whatever) on April 15th. I think it also said that it can be turned in after that date, but April 15 was the date to be basically “guaranteed” aid for fall 2013. Do it as soon as possible.

@saboteurj5: ahahh whoops, ok! thanks!

Anyone else besides me having a hard time trying to focus on finals because of transferitis haha

@courts Did I see you in the NYU thread too?? I think we both got in there today! :)

Is Penn need-aware or need-blind in admissions?

@lelouchFTW Penn is need blind unless you’re an international student.

Was anybody asked to send a midterm report? I never sent mine in and never got an email asking me for it.

Midterm report is only required if you are a sophomore transfer.

I am a sophomore transfer! haha I’m curious as to why I wasn’t asked to send it in.

You should’ve received an email as a reminder asking you to send in your mid term report, a few weeks ago. If you haven’t sent it in yet, I would get on that ASAP so that you may still get your application reviewed correctly. I’m not sure to be honest, how much it will impact your decision, but I think since it’s a required document for a sophomore transfer it holds some weight…

@agrahamturner yeah! I was- just got in today!

^ that was confusing for a second

@moonman676 sorry, I meant nyu, not penn… still waiting for penn
