Question - why did you apply to Penn and Brown? They’re not similar in the least. Penn’s very pre-professional and fratty, and Brown is pretty…well, it’s Brown.

E.g. the schools I applied to all had some form of South Asia program, and had very strong greek life.

Freefly, I saw you on the Cornell thread; what was their decision?

Well I applied to ivies and MIT for transfer and the reason for applying transferring is that I want to be at larger schools which provide graduate level courses for undergrads. Currently I’m at a Top 20 LAC with a full financial aid but since LAC’s are small and don’t have graduate programs, I wanted to be at larger schools with different research opportunities and where they have advanced graduate level courses.

Rejected lol, wasn’t expecting much anyways.

Probably in part due to not doing the midterm report thing. I thought it wasn’t necessary for junior transfers, but it seems like it was.

Rejected.
Computer Engineering Applicant.
3.94 GPA, 3.88 HS GPA
2200 SAT
Lots of engineering work experience, leadership positions, service
Good recommendations.
I really liked my move essay :(

Very disappointed. I wanted this really badly.

Rejected as well but not that surprising.

@Constantine i got in. got into penn-Wh just now, not going hopefully. Waiting on my dream school’s waitlist, and after speaking to the admissions rep it looks like I’ll have a fantastic shot once they break it down next week. So good luck at Penn y’all.

accepted! though probably not going. but getting accepted still feels good.

Accepted as an engineering student. Was pretty excited after being rejected from Yale and Duke and wait-listed at Columbia and Rice

4.0 H.S. GPA
4.0 College GPA
32 on ACT
Decent recommendations
Worked as a surgery technician for four months
I think my essays are what did it, they were very specific about my future career and the resources Penn can offer to help me achieve my goals

@freefly

What were your stats, if you don’t mind me asking?

Just got in! Now I have to choose between Penn and Brown!!!

Perfect scores, 3.9+, top prep school with a good gpa and the hardest schedule in my grade, varsity sports (not recruited), front office IBD bulge bracket internship this summer, lots of standout ECs, and T20 college with a #1 ranked business program (although Wharton is better on the east coast and for ibanking).

And a published research paper in high school, but that’s not business relevant. Best of luck again. I hope someone can make use of my spot, knock on wood (over and over haha). Hopefully I don’t wind up going. Grateful, though.

Accepted! 3.9 gpa from a military college, requested financial aid, decent ECs. I know I want to go pre med, so now I have to choose between UPenn and Dartmouth. HELP!

is there a group created for accepted students yet?

Accepted to CAS! :D

@Moushey Penn is far better for premed than Dartmouth. I just asked my friend’s dad for you haha. He did undergrad at Dartmouth and grad at Penn, and says that its unequivocally better to do Penn for undergrad. He sits on an admissions committee at a top 5 med school, so he may have a point.
His comment was based purely on general prestige and research opportunities, as well as department strength and med school connections. I was considering premed, which is why I guess I know what he’s talking about.

Freefly716 I really appreciate your input. I’m scared to choose UPenn because I always felt dartmouh was perfect for me beforehand. Part of me says “they’re both Ivy League so it’s whatever” and that I should just go where I can get more skiing in. Ahhh!!

Accepted! 3.9 GPA from a liberal arts school in upstate NY!!!

Anyone else not able to see their financial aid though?
