Official US December SAT I Thread

no, joke1987, i don't think it mentioned the least set of numbers

I missed 4 raw on math, what do you think is the best score that I could hope for is.

joke, it said which set of numbers render this statement false. i fell into the same trap as you did... we seem to agree on the same type of problems. i would be surprised if our scores were within 50 pts of each other.

I think we have come to the conclusion that we are in disagreement with the question. If both questions are worded right, we both have the right answers, we just need to do a little discerning here...

For the one with (2x+3x) > (2x)(3x), the answer ISN'T anything between 0 adn 1, its any x greater than 0 and less than 5/6. Do the math. But i doubt anyone would be dumb enough to guess a fraction of 5/6 or greater.

the most simple asnwer was 1/2 for that one. also i am 100% sure it is 61, 63

well, amnesia, as far as i know, section 5 was experimental,so i dont count that

I got all 10 of section 7 math right, almost all 10 fill ins right, the first two sections I only missed the one with the train and the ones which I got wrong seem mostly to be in the experimentals

either way, Im hoping a 750+ in math

btw, I fell into the train trap, however, I am highly confident I got this math problem right. I remember seeing 21, 23 and thinking, no way, seeing 61,63 thinking no way and seeing one of the last choices being right, but it asked for the smallest set of numbers which makes proves the statement to be true

haha for some reason I always think of 1/2 when i think of fractions because 1/2>(1/2)^2.

c, d, e, f...

cde>def>efc>fcd <---Means of each set

Answer: e<d<c<f Is this correct?
No that is incorrect, the answer is the opposite. e > d > c > f

Explanation: I tested it out after I went back to it.

Use 10, 9, 8, 7
C = 8, D = 9, E = 10, F = 7
Then you get 17, 16, 15, 14 when you add them using cde>def>efc>fcd.
:)

what was #3 on the grid ins?????

I didn't take section five seriously at all. I probably only got 1/3 of the answers right, so if it's not experimental than I am ska-rewed.

yup... i missed one grid in... MAYBE a few quant comp... omitted 1 and miss 1 in the first math section... i think i am in the bracket of 750-800 still... maybe.. 770 760 or 750... not sure... though. my experimental was a verbal passage of the new sat stuff...

michalpham is correct. The problem seems hard at a glance but when you compare the inequalities it becomes so simple because everything cancels out except two terms. Plugging in would be too tedious and time consuming. Anyone approach it the way i did?

michael_pham, i think the most exact way to do that one is just DO THE MATH, not plug in. i think the answer was E.

did anyone take the SATs in october?? Did you think it was easier or harder than the october one??
I thought this one was relatively easy.
Math was a joke and Verbal wasn't a killer as it usually is.

Hey Ppl could you please answer the questions I have posted. Thank you. Hey ppl. I have a lot of questions for you to answer. Verbal:1.) "a fair adavntage"- I put radical principle. Is that correct? 2.) the one about both passages viewed poetry about artificial intelligence: Passage 1 viewed as embodiment of artistic creativity and Passage 2 viewed as superfluous..something like that. Is it correct? 3.)What was the one about paradox? HEr behavior cannot be evaluated by absolute moral....? 4.) What was unusual about PAssage 2 about the woman? Was it that literal achievements were uneven? 5.) spirit- i put assertive outlook?6.) the point rhat human will be out of work: was it robots will expand scientific field-something like that or in many ways, robots will supplant humans.
Math: 1) 25.) pencils- 1 and 2 only? 2.) QC: The one about memebers and residents? Was it D? 19.) the pt closeset to x-axis: Was it A (-3,2)?
Thank you for your response.

If I am correct I believe the answer was d. I think that that answer had c>d which was wrong.

Re: the ain question, how did you compensate for the train's 200 meters? Because you would need to compensate for the 200 meters going in (the full body of the train) and the time elapsed begins when the front of the train enters the tunnel.. and then compensating for getting the full body out.

And re: the prime number question, there was 91,93.. I put down 61,63, but which one was it?

And the question definitely was: "Which of the following DISPROVES the idea that the next prime number after a prime number with a second integer of 1" or something along those lines..

3 on gridins is any # between 0 and 5/6 lol

i think i did : )
