Hello!

I (sophomore) am currently planning to studying for the NEXT YEAR’s USABO exam. I currently purchased these textbooks:

Campbell Biology 9th Edition
Molecular Biology of the Cell
Brock’s Microbiology
Cliff Notes AP Biology

Are they are noguh to study for the exam? How hard it is?

It’s not about quantity but quality…
reading only Campbell and really understanding it is worth 10x more than reading Campbell, Raven’s, Cliff’s, bla bla bla, once each without really comprehending any of them…

^thanks!

Speaking of Biology Olympiad, is there any science olympiad or other similar competitions/programs about specific subjects in science (especially biology) like molecular biology or microbiology?

^The Science Olympiad

[Home Page | Science Olympiad](http://www.soinc.org)

Hello again!

I know there is Science Olympiad team to study for specific subjects within biology, but is there any program or competition about molecular biology or microbiology?

Hello!

What grade should I have to make in AP Biology class to register for the competition in Biology Olympiad? Also, is it necessay to study the specific textbooks like biochem textbook, plant textbook, etc.?

Do people recommend studying this summer to prepare for the olympiad next year?

Absolutely. Studying over the summer is the way to go with these olympiads.

Wow, Mansu, you bought all of those books? How much did you spend on all of that?

Hey can someone explain what it means to be a national silver medalist at USABO?

@Example- it means that you qualified as a finalist and subsequently got a silver medal on the exam that determines who goes to IBO. I believe only gold medalists advance to represent USA at IBO.
