What’s up with all of the school forms? I’m having a hard time understanding what I have and what I don’t have to fill out on the common app. Can anybody lend some insight?

so where do we put our winter classes?

@uscacceptme- My previous comment was a response to rocio94! (Forget to mention that in my post!) Indeed, Annenberg requires college professor recs.

@SatinderChhokar- To my understanding, you don’t submit any of the school forms. You simply send your high school and college transcripts to USC. But you do complete everything else that is on the common app. Hope that helps :)

@satinder ya that stuff freaked me out too. Just call the admissions office, I’m pretty sure transfer applicants don’t have to do those (but don’t take my word for it!!)

On another note… Anyone applying to the writing for screen and television program that is due in 2 days and still has stuff to write like me?! Lolllll crying

@rocio94 I found some tips online saying that we put them with our fall courses. I’m not sure if this is right but it kinda makes sense since those courses would be complete and not in progress after the application deadline. Hope someone else can give some more insight!

@chloe316 Haha! Good luck! My first choice major is film and television production but I can’t apply yet since I won’t have 48 units. :l Hope we’ll both become one of the cool SCA students :]

Thank you @uscco2016 & @chloe316!

Hope everyone’s apps are going well.

Hey guys!

I asked my counselor if I still need to send in my SAT scores when I’ll be having 32 credits by the end of my spring semester and this was her reply: "It applies to the time we make our decision. So there are students, who we will hold our decision until we receive their Spring grades, so we have 30+ units to consider in the review.

It is up to you, if you would like to submit your SAT scores. And ALL applicants need to submit their high school transcript with graduation date. It is a required element of the transfer application."

I hope this helps you in a way :)

I’ll be sending in mine just in case… even if it’s low. Do you guys know if filling out the SAT score part in the commonapp is enough? Or do we have to go through Collegeboard to send it? Thanks!!! FIGHT ON

Do you guys know if legacy has any pull for Marshall transfers. My dad went to grad school at Marshall.

@uscco2016 opps so sorry! and do you know if Marshall requires letters of rec by college professors?

How does legacy work? Is it just for immediate family or does it extend to extended family?

@ajindt Out of curiosity, what was your SAT score?

@uscacceptme- Don’t worry about it! And I don’t believe Marshall requires teacher recommendations.

To everyone, if you have any questions regarding your major/school and their requirements you can find them here! There’s also a hyperlink on the supplement
http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/private/1213/12_13Common_App.pdf

My parents are both unemployed, would that work in my favor or against? I heard USC is a need blind college? USC is super expensive for me…

Is any one else applying to Marshall that is a one year transfer? by the end of the winter quarter i will have all my requirements done but i feel like they accept one year transfers in only rare cases :/

@nmwcorvette I’m applying to Marshall as a one year transfer as well. I really don’t think they give preference over one-year or two-year transfers. Just as long as you have great stats and great application. There are a lot of people on the multiple Decisions threads that got in as entering sophomore so don’t worry! I think its a plus that you’ll have all your requirements done too!

I am a chemical engineering major sophomore in UIUC. I want to transfer to USC chemical engineering for Fall of 2013. Should I prepare recommendation letters from my instructors?
My current GPA is 3.87. I don’t know if I am at a good standing or not.

I already finished Calculus sequences, Calculus based Physics sequences (mechanics, electricity and magnetism, quantum), and General Chem and organic chemistry first sem.

Is it really competitive to transfer to USC’s ChemE?

Everyone’s stats are much higher than mine! I’m nervous, two D’s an I feel like I’m doomed

lol with a 3.87 at UIUC and those classes you should be good to go in terms of classwork

I got in Viterbi as a first year with a C in mechanics but A’s in my other courses, but at a CC which is much easier than UIUC

As for 1 year vs 2 year, the only difference IMO is 1st years have to have a slightly stronger application only because they might say they wanna see more classes to evaluate. It’s not really that big of a deal I don’t think. Also 2nd year transfers are probably a little stricter in terms of if you’ve filled the requirements for your major.

@uscco2016 whew thanks you! I haven’t been making any relations with professors, counselors or even students hahahaha. I just go to school then home… ***.

@jdahlen don’t worry man I’m with you…

@beachpony you shouldn’t worry too much. my friend transferred after one year and he didn’t even fulfill all of the requirements

Also just turned in my UC application wish me luck!! (still a Trojan at heart though hahaha)
