Official USC 2013 Transfer Thread

@that1guyy…sure PM it and i’ll take a look tonight. I’m stressing the why transfer essay…done w/everything but the main common app one

When do I have to mail my transcript and letter of recs by?

@basketballer123: February 1st.

@LaChicaBuena Does it have to be there by February 1st? Or as long as I mail it before February 1st?

^ As long as you mail it before February 1st, you should be good. :)

What GPA should I list for USC? College UC or CSU? Help please!

@harry188 same question, I am applying as a sophomore transfer and have selected Business Administration as my major. Does that mean I do not have to do the WBB supplement whatsoever? And no video interview as well?

Hey guys, how long are your essays? Mine is about 580. o-o Is that alright or should I try and cut it down?

@noreima I don’t remember having to list my college GPA on the commonapp…did I miss something? :P

@Toofast You don’t have to do the WBB supplement because it is for First-Year Applicants only. I’m not sure about the video though. You should probably contact them just to make sure you don’t have to submit that.

@beachpony I’m thinking you should cut it down since it says the word limit is 500 words.

@beachpony: My essay is around 600 ish words. The 500 word ‘limit’ is actually a guideline; app readers won’t be counting your words, since the essay will be in PDF form. As long as you have your essay under 2 pages, double spaced, you should be good! My main essay last year was around 600 words, and I got into all the schools I applied to with the common app.
If you feel that it’s wordy, however, try to cut it down.

@noreima: I don’t think you have to list your GPA on the common app…USC will see what your GPA is when you send them your transcript.

@LaChicaBuena Thanks for clearing that up. I actually thought it was a legitimate limit. Oops.

^ Haha no problem! :)

The main essay was hella easy for me to put together, but I’m having so much trouble with the supplement right now. Hopefully I’ll cough something up before Feb 1st…

@LaChicaBuena I know! It was hard for me to not repeat anything already stated in the main essay. I despise the 1000 character statements.

Thank you guys!!

Question: So I’ve applied online today, essays and all. So now all that is left to do I my high school and college transcript sent, right? Also I have a recommendation letter to send… Do I send these all at the same time to the same address? Thanks guys.

@tomred Yup! As long as you’ve submitted your application and supplement, that should be the only things you have left to do. You don’t have to send them both at the same time, it’s entirely up to you. This is the address I used and I am pretty sure it is correct.

USC Office of Admission
Undergraduate
University Park Campus
Los Angeles, CA
90089-0911

Is there a deadline for when the transcripts need to be sent in?

If I am a sophomore applying to Marshall for biz admin. do we need to send any of our SAT2 scores or SAT1 score? Does not say anywhere on the website…

and none of my transcripts include these scores.

@uschopeful2013 Everything has to be postmarked before February 1st, I believe.

@Toofast If you have over 30 credits you don’t need to send in your SAT scores.

@LaChicaBuena-- so, when we attach our personal essay, should it be double-spaced on the document, do you think?
