Official USC 2013 Transfer Thread

Hey Guys!

I am a sophomore student at USC and I transferred from UCI to USC after freshman year. I am pretty good at writing I think so if anyone wants me to edit any of their USC essays (including common app essays + supplemental questions), please feel free to PM me.

Good luck!!

Finally, everything is in!! BTW I submitted the Common App on Sunday and when I called on Monday she said, “Yes we have it but it is not all the way checked in yet. Don’t worry we have it and it takes awhile for everything to show up on USC connect.” It’s Tuesday and nothing is showing up yet. Just don’t want the rest of you to worry.

Now… hurry up and wait.

hey everyone. so i wrote a thread inquiring about rushing for a frat as a transfer junior. does anyone know if the frats at usc will accept juniors?

@uscacceptme I’m pretty sure there’s no word or character limit for the additional comments. Just not too long, considering they read thousands of essays.

Does the additional comments go to only USC or to all the other colleges I’m applying to

^since it’s on the common app and not part of the supplement, I believe it goes to all the colleges

@basketballer123 alright seems reasonable :P

@movieguy i’m sure it only goes only to USC since you’re filling out the USC application. same with the other essays and stuff, but i’m not 100%.

oh, nvm about that second part :D

@uscco2016 alrighty thanks. the stuff i wrote shouldn’t be an issue for the other apps

Would anyone mind chancing me, I would really appreciate it!

My goal is to get accepted into Marshall and then get an accounting degree through Leventhal.

I go to a california cc
Gpa 3.98
Essays: i’m pleased with how they turned out
Recommendations: college president is sending one
Ecs: student body president, bunch of advocacy related work, phi theta kappa regional officer, city commission
Work experience: i’m doing year of americorps as a gap year

I’ve completed all the marshall requirements except for some of their ge’s. i’ve also done managerial and financial accounting for leventhal school.

Thanks I appreciate it, I am also applying to uillinois urbana champaign, uindiana bloom, utexas austin, and unc-chapel hill. All accounting concentration. If you know these schools can you chance me also? USC is really my dream school!

Just submitted my common app and supp. This is my second time applying, and I feel pretty good about it. Good luck everybody!

does anyone want to edit/review my essay? i’ve been struggling with it for quite a while now

My “Why Transfer” essay is at 543 words. Would this be acceptable?

@SatinderChhokar the common app doesn’t check word count and the people at USC probably wouldn’t notice if it were a few words over but since you’re 43 words over, i’d try to condense that as much as possible to be on the safe side

did anyone do their FAFSA / CSS profile yet? it says it doesn’t have to be filed till march 1st so just checking

@2016collegegirl: FAFSA / CSS must be submitted by the 1st. Cal Grant is due March 2nd

[USC Financial Aid - Applying & Receiving Financial Aid - Undergraduate - New Students](http://www.usc.edu/admission/fa/applying_receiving/undergraduates2/newstudents.html)

I wonder if I can do my CSS on friday. Like friday morning. Also, I think it’s dumb you have to pay for the CSS PROFILE application.

on the usc website it says

“If you received a Cal Grant at your previous college, you will need to transfer the grant to USC by posting a school change at WebGrants for Students”

so I’m suppose to transfer my cal grant to a school that i’m not even sure if i’m accepted to yet? what about all the other colleges i applied to? will i not get a cal grant from them?

^ if in not mistaken, you’ll get your cal grant towards the end of summer. You can always go back to your account and change wich school you’d like your grant to go…

Good luck to everyone still working on their applications! :)
