Did we have to submit a College Official’s Report? I couldn’t find that requirement on the USC transfer website, so I just assumed we didn’t, anybody know for sure?

For those of you wondering about the SGR, you may or may not receive them, but receiving them could be indicative of two possible situations.

A) They want to see the grades of any major prep courses you may be taking in the spring, or…

B) They are still kind of fence-sitting on your application, and a longer review along with your spring grades will help facilitate a final decision on your admission.

By no means are these bad situations; all you can do is show them your grades and hope for the best. That said, don’t pull a high school senior year and slack off, because if you get SGR’ed, they will take note. I maintained a 4.0 throughout CC (even in the spring before transferring), and I didn’t get an SGR. I was accepted into Dornsife, and now I’m in Annenberg.

@seets3000: I don’t recall having to send in a College Official’s report. Just to be safe, contact the admissions department to verify that sending one in isn’t necessary.

How long does it take for USCONNECT to update the acceptance of transcripts from high school and university?

Good luck everyone. If my GPA doesn’t completely doom me, I hope to get to know some of you better. You have been very helpful for using this thread :)

@ Andrewswan, it usually takes one to two weeks. Verifying transcripts we receive and electronically uploading them to your application takes a while, and even then the additions won’t be immediately reflected on your USConnect.

we should make a group page on facebook if anyone’s down, just so communication would be easier over the months. would like to keep in contact with you guys so we can finish this process together! let me know!

Has anyone made one yet? If not, I could do it.

Quick question about SGR. How often do they give them to junior transfers and would a midterm report speed up the decision. I don’t really want to wait until June for a decision -especially with other school’s response deadlines.

I’d definitely be down to join the facebook group.
And I’m really nervous about getting an SGR. My spring sem classes aren’t cakewalks by any means…

@ronaldot: I don’t know how frequently junior transfers receive SGRs. To my knowledge, sending in a midterm report doesn’t speed up the process.

As for having to wait, you don’t need to worry; you can always accept admission for one of the colleges you are accepted to before you hear back from USC. I was in the same situation with Cal State Long Beach; I accepted their admission offer because the deadline to respond fell before June 1st. You can always revoke it; accepting admission isn’t necessarily accepting financial aid, signing up for classes, etc.

However, once you DO revoke your admission after hearing from USC, call their office to make sure that you are completely disconnected from that school. I did a couple safety checks with CSULB to let them know I got accepted and decided to attend USC instead.

Would totally love to join an fb group!

Also, are SAT/ACT score reports listed on USConnect? It says I have no additional documents required but my test scores aren’t listed on the received ones.

@beachpony: Most likely they have processed your test scores, but after that it takes a while for it to show up on USConnect.

anyone want to make the group? i don’t mind either!

I’d be glad to join !

does anyone know how to make a group? hahaha i’m trying but i need to add ya’ll first

On the left side of the home page, there should be a link that says “Create Group”
Click that. If you’re already in groups on fb, it should say “Add Group”…click on that, then at the top of the page you’ll see “Create New Group”
I think that’s right…according to Google, lol.

@LaChicaBuena haha i did that! but i have to have people as facebook friends before i can officially start the group lol.

There is a group for students who were admitted for the 2012-2013 school year.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/321992387850755/

I think it is led by an official USC admissions counselor, maybe you can ask there to create on for 2013-2014 applicants?

I can create a group, hold on.

So, making a group on Facebook is extremely bizarre. My primary account could only make a group within my university’s network, so I made an alternate account, and constructed a page. Here it is:

http://www.facebook.com/groups/585868561440948/

It isn’t “official”, but it’ll be a place where we can communicate and help each other out.
