I dont even have Program of Study as an option under eligibility checks. It just says Satisfactory Academic Progress.

^Same here!!!

It means we are one step closer to approval of an application that has no relation to our acceptance letters, I think. YAY!

@RandomNewGuy after reading your post I checked my USC Connect and I have the same thing. I agree, “It means we are one step closer to approval of an application that has no relation to our acceptance letters, I think. YAY!” Still it is fun to see something!

The only plus is that I do believe - if the transfer thread from the prior year is any indication - that the transition to the Common App is going far smoother for Admissions this year. We have received a lot more communication than last year’s applicants.

Hey guys,
On USC connect, for FAFSA financial aid this is what it says:
“Submit as early as January 2, but no later than February 1, 2013”…i heard the date was March 1 for financial aid…and here is says Feb 1 here…does anyone know what the deal with that is? because i am just about to submit my Fafsa online… because i thought it was march 1

Under the financial aid documents, it’s saying that documents are missing, but when I check, it says no documents are required.

Also, it’s saying that “Your Program of Study Code has been expired or is no longer valid.”

What does that even mean?

@markfoti100 I just looked it up and it said

February 1, 2013
Submit CSS/PROFILE application to college service and FAFSA application to federal processors. If you miss this deadline, apply as soon as possible after this date.

So, it says if you miss the date apply as soon as possible.

Hey guys, just a question. @SilverRex you can probably answer this… From reading on past threads I’ve seen people talking about when it was close to time for them to receive an admission decision, that they could go on USConnect and see if they got in or not… Something about the boxes when you click on admission?

Clarification on my last post.
I do have the program of study under eligibility checks, but it has the “action required” symbol
Does anyone else have this?

Satisfactory Academic Progress

Because you are a new student at USC, the Financial Aid Office will not evaluate Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) toward your degree objective until after your first graded semester at the university. At this time, you are eligible to receive financial aid for the current semester. For more information, please visit our website.

(That is the only thing I have under my Eligibility Checks)

@UCBoundVet I have the same thing and I think it is interesting wording “Because you are a new student at USC…” Oh really… I am a new student at USC, since when? Hmmm Maybe they need to say “Because you are applying to be a new student at USC” or maybe… nah… couldn’t be.

^^ I am sure that since that whole Financial Aid check is fairly new they will work things out, like the wording of those statements. However, since the wait and anticipation is killing me, I will pretend it is positive news for the time being.

@markfoti100 … My experience with Financial Aid at a community college level is that if you miss a priority deadline, it does not necessarily mean you will not be awarded financial aid, but rather decreases your chances at a more generous package.

… @UCBoundVet @Katie617… or it means we have been ACCEPTED before they have probably even started to review transfers, thus we can start packing our stuff and building up ridiculous expectations. It will only make our rejection letters that much more hysterical. :(

My girlfriend found out yesterday that she got into graduate school at USC, East Asian Studies. Jesus Christ, and I have another few months to wait. This is torture, just like last year.

@RandomNewGuy

I called about the “graduate status” on financial aid usconnect. Turns out its some internal coding error, they fixed it this morning. I think they’ve just begun the review process for our applications.

Hey guys I’m in winter quarter at Davis and do you think me getting a 3.5 will be enough for SGR or even an acceptance? I have an overall gpa of 3 and that is very low but a 3.5 is reachable but anything above that is a stretch since I am doing horribly in econ. Math and chem are about the same. Bio is torture too.

And this is my third time applying. Do you think they’d let me in by now? Aaand yeah maybe on June 1st I will just ditch school and camp outside the mailbox to see the post guy deliver a small envelope or do you guys think that they will see that this is my third time applying?

And the message has been reworded hahah

uh guys. I don’t think I’ll get into USC this year since I’m basically denied at LMU. If I can’t get into LMU, how in the world can I get into USC? ***.
