I just realized how active this thread is …

the thread should pick up next month once we get a few decisions rolling in - last year I think the first admission was around april 9th or so.

If it really is April 9th then we are really getting close. For some reason, my friend said he already got rejected from USC. Did this happen to anyone else?

Is it much easier to gain acceptance transferring from a higher esteemed 4-year college as opposed to a community college or school like UofA with the same GPA?

To be honest, I doubt it. It’s getting harder and harder to transfer from any college , 4 year or 2 year. The freshmen are taking over! Lol

Quick question outside of USC… Did anyone else apply to Chapman as a transfer and have received an email from them regarding their app and admissions?

@alaintran9

I applied for transfer to Chapman, all I have gotten since the deadline was an email saying we have received your application, wait for a letter in the mail with your login information. Which is stupid, why can’t they just email me the login info, hah.

What are my chances? Currently a business admin major at UCI Paul Merage school of Business. I am trying to transfer to Marshall School of Business.
GPA: 3.64 after my winter quarter. Will try to achieve at least a 3.7 after the end of my spring quarter.
Work: 20 hours a week
High School GPA: 3.4
SAT: 2050

People were asking so from the 2013 Transfer brochure: In 2012 50% of transfer students came from California Community Colleges. The average GPA of the transfer class was 3.6 and 8,275 applied to transfer and 2,770 got admissions offers.
According to 2012 Transfer brochure: In 2011 59% transfers came from CCC. Average GPA of transfer class was 3.7 and 9,611 applied and 2559 were offered admission. I’m not sure what that means for us but it is a bit of recent history. Good luck… let the letters begin!

BTW Who else out there is on the Trojan Transfer Plan? Do you think that will help us?

@smalone3d April 9th ? Are you sure that’s not for Freshman applicants and or Transfer Applicant Spring Grade Requests ? I thought earliest acceptances for Transfers were around May … but what do I know lol

@transfer2OI3

pretty sure it was a transfer into bio at usc or something. i was just glancing over the 2012 transfer thread and that’s when someone reported getting accepted. well, it was on that day that he/she got the enrollment commintment box thing on USConnect and then got the actual package a few days later.

AHHHH I NEED THAT ! Frkn Pepperdine asking for Tuition Prepayment SIR by May 1st while USC decisions are June 1st ! >:[ ME MAD RAWR !

it’s pretty stupid, right? if USC takes so long, they should make their deadline a month earlier so that they can get started on it earlier. Finding out in june whether or not you are going to school somewhere in August is very, very stupid.

It does make it tough, because I already have two offers on the table and I gather I’ll hear back from one or two more before USC. I am a little bit more fortunate, as I would be willing to eat the deposit from another school elsewhere to accept admission into USC, but I really should not have to.

@randomnewguy exactly … I’m still waiting for Emory to say I’m in so that I don’t have to do an SIR for Pepperdine … BUT if I want to stay in Cali I have to either get into USC for sure or pay SIR for Pepperdine … AHHH F M L ! Good Luck to you guys I hope you guys get in ! =D

GEs: category 3 bio
my philosophy class won’t get me GE but it will get me credits

ECs: job and comm service from high school

also play lax and track in high school

@Transfer612 Unless your school is top 20… I think everyone from a ranked 4 yr has an equal shot. I’m sure you have an edge coming from a 4yr vs a cc though (if GPAs are equal). I would assume they know 4yrs are more rigorous. Plus, they know you are acclimated to college level work and environment.

@ronaldot thank your very much for the reply. what do my chances look like?
