^^ I go to a 4-year that isn’t even ranked at all. Hopefully USC doesn’t think my classes were cakewalks… My classes weren’t a breeze by any means, but they probably weren’t as difficult as some of y’alls.

Plus, this is slightly awkward, but USC is the only school I applied to. It really sucks that June 1st seems so far away…

@Transfer612 I think your stats are competitive. The fact that you know someone on one of the boards should help. Try to get a 4.0 (or above a 3.6) this semester, they like to see upward trends. I believe Marshall is more competitive, so they probably expect higher GPAs.

I’m on the same boat as you. Applying to Marshall as a junior transfer from a ranked 4yr. My GPA is 3.6 but it should be higher. (I got a 3.8, 4.0, and a 4.0 on my midterm report in the last 3 semesters - really messed up first semester, my parents were getting divorced). Hopefully they recognize that I am a 4.0 student. I also have a hook b/c I have legacy at Marshall (father received MBA before it was even named Marshall lol).

when do you guys think we’ll hear from sc? i keep looking at previous threads and some people said they didn’t get word till practically july! this wait is KILLING me!!!

I’ve been “thread-stalking” the USC tranfer page for awhile… LOL

First off,
Fingers, feet and legs, everything crossed! for everyone waiting to be accepted into USC. Good luck !

I was offered a Trojan Transfer plan after being rejected last year when I was in high school. On the paper, it listed dates to meet up with USC admission counselors to implement the “Trojan Transfer Plan.” I didn’t show up for any. . . I’m wondering if anyone who received the TTP showed up for the appointments? shrugs

@JigglyJello I was offered the Trojan Transfer Plan in my rejection letter from the high school application. I did make an appointment and meet with a admissions counselor. We went over the classes I needed to take and the minimal GPA they were looking for for TTP students (3.6). They said for me to do my best and try for all A’s.
I have no idea if that gives me or any other TTP applicants a boost. We’ll see.

by trojan transfer plan are you guys talking about the transfer booklet they send you just when you sign up with the common app to apply? or is the trojan transfer plan a totally seperate thing?

Trojan Transfer Plan, it’s a different thing from the transfer booklet. It’s just a personalized transfer plan given to students rejected but had familial connections to USC. Some cases, I heard kids without familial connections were still offered the TTP.

Hey guys! I was hoping to get chanced as well, if you don’t mind. I am a sophomore applying as a transfer from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. I’ll make it easier for everyone so I’ll just organize what my stats are:

School: RPI
GPA: 3.70
ACT: 31 (idk how much that matters though)
Credits Completed: around 82? haha I lost count
Major Applying to: Chemical Engineering
Extracurriculars: I am a part of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, I have been the treasurer of my class for both freshman and sophomore years, I started my own “hedge fund” that I increased the initial portfolio by 137% in one year. I have done a lot of service and I am in the process of starting my own non profit organization to combat teenage bullying; I worked at Columbia University’s Psychology department and did research there regarding environmental decisions among students.

I’m trying to be as diverse as possible. Although I love Engineering, I also love many other things like finance and psychology (hopefully that doesn’t deter from my application)

So what do you guys think, do you think I have a slim chance of getting in? Thanks so much!

I don’t understand why USC will not release their decision until June 1st. I applied to several UC’s and some want a response by mid May. If I accept admission to a UC, but later get accepted to USC, can I resign from the UC?

I have a question guys–how can any of you afford USC? They kept mailing me things and it looked like it would have been a pretty safe bet for me, but tuition is $59,000 per year with no aid! I didn’t bother applying. Are your parents all millionaires or something?

Are you sure? Last time I looked Canadian transfer applicants have to pay full freight. If there it turns out that there is financial aid available, I’ll be kicking myself because I would have very likely been accepted to USC (then again, perhaps not because of financial aid + international). I can’t say the same about the 12 places I applied.

hi, is anyone else having a problem opening their financial aid check & document status boxes on usconnect? trying to see if they received something but it won’t open!

@ chloe316 - Mine won’t open either. I’m sure that with the freshman deadline quickly approaching they have a ton of new info.

@ SaraaC - Looking at past years, they ask for SGR anywhere from late April all the way through the beginning of June. On the USC website it says we will have an answer or a request for Spring grades by June 3rd. Sooooo far away.
