Official USC 2013 Transfer Thread

Baseball… You?

@tomred football

How do i check my application’s status on uscconect?

I just got into another college and have to make a deposit by May 8…what do I do???

@filmandwriting from what I’ve seen, many people make an enrollment deposit to their next choice school in case they don’t get in to USC

@uschopeful2013 if clicking on “check app status” doesn’t work or you simply don’t see the link after logging into usconnect, try unblocking your pop-ups. That worked for me.

@uscco2016 Congrats on the SGR! It seems so early to get one compared to years before!

Would you mind sharing your stats? And also can you please tell me how exactly you know you’ve gotten a SGR? Like what does the message say?

Thanks!

There is probably nothing worse than somebody posting on here that they got an SGR… And not telling their stats… Cmon people get it together lol.

so why such an early SGR? lol. i am itching to know

maybe cause he/she has to finish the requirements because he/she is taking them during spring sem or he/she sophomore applicant or he/she low gpa ? lol

Apparently they won’t even review the apps until may. At least that is what an admissions officer told me over the phone yesterday

Yeah, that’s not true. I have been in contact with Admissions off-and-on this week because they are reviewing my application. I think most folks won’t hear until May.

Well I haven’t heard a word from them lol… Guess that means no USC for me… Sounds good for you though definitely.

No, not necessarily. It’s been a line of communication because I’m an unorthodox applicant and there’s been some administrative headaches. Doesn’t necessarily play well into my favor, to be honest. It just means that on a stack of applications, they have reached mine. No biggie. I still won’t hear for another month, I bet.

no news is good news for right now

Any Marshall applicants that just took business calculus instead of regular calculus?

I took business calc…I’m pretty sure USC gives the option of taking either one. The only difference is that Calc I is usually worth 4 credits.

FAQ:

 1. When did I receive my admission decision? Last week of April
 2. How was my financial aid package? Only was given the standard loan amount that most students are “awarded” - $11,000 a year (that needs to be paid back in the near future). Everything else was paid for through scholarships (including USC Transfer Merit Scholarship of $10,930 a year), grants, financial aid, and from USC themselves.
 3. How did you find housing? This was literally a nightmare. For most of you, by the time you receive your admission decision, you will not have the option to apply for housing (Since the deadline is May 1). However, if you are accepted into USC, I will provide you with information on finding places to live :D
