Official USC 2013 Transfer Thread

Since we’re all waiting for USC what are you all going to do about the UC SIR deadline? Is there a fee?

Aw man… I wanna hear soon too!!
Yes there is a fee. I think its like 100 bucks or something?? A lot of people just end up having to pay the fee if they are still waiting on USC, that way if you get rejected you can still go to the UC. But if you get into USC you are gonna lose the money

@smalone3d, I tried to respond to you then got told I had too few posts to be allowed to message…after I’d already typed a message and hit send haha.

I applied as an animation major at some CSU schools as well, I plan on going to Fullerton if USC doesn’t work out. Where else did you apply?

Oh, college confidential sure is silly.

I only applied at USC and Chapman. Hopefully I’ll get into either of them! I know it’s very difficult to transfer into USC animation just due to spots available. Fingers crossed for both of us :P

Have you been to the campus yet?

I visited both Chapman and USC, actually. USC is pretty awesome and I like the layout of the campus a lot. It’s pretty awesome.

@smalone3d, Yes I think only a handfull of transfers get into the animation major each year. Starting to regret not putting a second choice major lol. Good luck to us!

No, I haven’t been to that campus ever. I’m up in Seattle. (But I’ve found the general consensus among Seattle-ites is that it’s a beautiful campus in a terrible neighborhood.)

Waiting…waiting…waiting for that day when you rush home because you have a special feeling in your stomach. Go straight for the mailbox and find a letter from USC but its thin…you still have hope because this letter is your life on the line…open letter…“This has been USC’s biggest application pool in history…”…waiting…waiting…waiting…for your future to be destroyed.

^ wait, so did you actually get rejected?

I just looked up that tweet. That doesn’t make any sense though… I don’t know.

@veeyepea, can you link me? I’ve been looking for it, but I don’t have a twitter, which is probably why I can’t find it…

bwwinthehouse, the rejection letters come in a regular sized white envelope, at least thats what i’ve been told. So it will be pretty clear before we all open our letters whether we get in or not. Also from researching 2012’s transfer thread, USC will ask for a payment on USC Connect a day or two before the acceptance letters arrive to your mailbox. So be sure too keep checking if your anxious.

Yeaa if its not a big yellow envelope its an sgr or a rejection… Thats why if i dont see big and yellow when i get home i dont get excited haha

LOL seriously ^^ Who all here applied to Marshall ?

So they don’t send our decisions electronically? They send them via snail mail?

@Cschropp24

I don’t think that’s true. I remember senior year of high school a friend of mine got his packet in the mail for USC marshall It was a big ol’ hunkin’ packet. I would imagine transfers get the same treatment.

Marshall and Dornsife… haha well its just big idk if its yellow. if it is just a regular size envolope its not a acceptance

@Veeyepea I’m pretty sure you will find out on USC connect first and then the packet will arrive later.

@JR2013 What are your stats if you don’t mind me asking ?

Ventura College
3.6
around 55 units not all transfer
EC: probably my two strongest were that i worked on a campaign for Don Facciano who ran for treasurer/ Tax collecter and assistant coach for my old high school soccer team this year
Letters of Rec: one from a engineer graduate class of 51 who was a founding member of the wilson assoc. and other active titles in usc associations

i never took the SAT or ACT

@JR2013 Yeah the one aspect I would’ve done different was to get stronger letters of rec
