Does anyone know if USC is need-blind for transfer applicants?

Have you gone onto the USC website and seen if there is an articulation agreement with your university? Have you checked out this link? [Core Requirements - USC Undergraduate Admission](http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/apply/trans_core.html) This goes over what to do if your school does not have an agreement. I took one class at our state university during the summer right after high school and before going to a cc. I saw that it was accepted in the past by usc and met one of the core requirements.
After you look at the history or agreement with your school, I think you should call and talk to an admissions adviser at USC.

RCLA325 - These have to be official transcripts, not copies that you have. Contact your high school and college and have them send them to USC. Some schools do it electronically and some schools will send them by mail.

Hey guys! I have a question.

I am applying to USC as a transfer student. I am currently enrolled in a community college. For the recommendation letter, do I have to “invite” my professor to write the recommendation letter or does he have to send the letter by mail to the university?

I had also applied last year, but last year USC asked the rec. letter to be mailed separately and not via the common app, so is it the same this year or not? Thank you.

@Heartattack90

Yes, you first invite them in the common app, then you assign them after inviting them, they will make an account and turn in everything online, my professor already did mine, no mailing this year I guess.

Communicate with your teachers, also if by any chance they tell you they did an account but can’t sign in, let them know to click on the recommenders tab before signing in.

Thank you so much! You are the best! :)

I have one more question, on the commonapp it asks for “Advisor’s” information…name, contact no., email etc. Does it have to be like a counselor or something? Or can a professor also be an advisor??

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/240x297q90/268/hzhp.png

^^ This is what I need help with. Can I put in my professor as the “Advisor”, meaning can I put in his info. Or does it have to be someone like a counselor?

Lol, yeah I’m not sure about that one, I just put my counselor there

Would it be a bad thing to take a lot of online courses? I plan on taking 5 classes next semester and 3 of them are online.

How would they even know if they were taken online swerveness?

This is what the USC website says: Courses and Units that May Transfer,
to be Determined on a Case-by-Case Basis (Includes online classes)

Foreign-language classes and lab science classes can’t be taken online. For many of those classes they will ask to see a syllabus or registration form that shows specifically where you took the course. They will give you unit credit for the course but it won’t fulfill the USC requirements for that specific subject. Other online courses are typically not a problem.

Hi guys,

I was just wondering if USC took the rigor of the school you attended into account when evaluating our applications? I attend Wake Forest and plan on transferring in the fall, but my GPA will probably be around 3.4. What do you think my chances are?

Hey guys, I fear I could have completely jeopardized my chances of acceptance because I bombed my math final today bring my GPA down to 3.47 as opposed to a 3.8. Has anyone here personally made it with that low of a GPA or similar. My highschool GPA isn’t so hot either standing at 3.3 and SATs at 1960.

Congratulations on a successful semester everyone. I wish you us all the best of luck when applying. Keep those Grades up.

Would it affect my chances if I apply for my desired major (which is impacted), or if I apply undeclared?

Should I bother applying to school of cinematic arts if my gpa is in the 3.1-3.4 range?

I have 2 professors that can write me good letters but don’t have a 3rd which would most likely end up with a letter from faculty of my CC

I’m not that good at writing which is the most important element of the supplemental application but I really want to get to that school

Hi,
I just finished my first semester at USC and I want to encourage all of you that your hard work is worth it. I transferred from a cc after one year and entered USC as a sophomore. Keep working, it is awesome!!!

Guys, I have a question.

So I totally messed up my grades this fall semester.

I went from an overall GPA of 3.6 to Probably 3.2 GPA now…

What can I do and what should I do??

What school in USC do I have a shot at?
