I got caught drinking in my dorm room and was put on the lowest level probation for my school
should i disclose that info on common app or no?
Also will it affect my admission chances?
I will thoroughly explain the actions i took to resolve the problem

I think you have to disclose any disciplinary actions. USC is battling a binge drinking culture however; we lost a student to alcohol poisoning this semester and had multiple emergency visits to the hospital from Greek Row. Be aware of that and know that alcohol is a sensitive subject right now.

Hahaha does anyone know how long teachers wait to put the Final Grades on transcripts? I have two more teachers i’m waiting on, and i’m just going to wait until then to send in my App…

One of my recommenders is my boss of internship, I think I am only allowed to invite college faculty on com app? So should I ask him to mail the letter to USC instead?

Also, my school has semester system, the deadline of application is right at the time when we start the spring semester, which part of the application should I reflect the courses I am going to take in spring?( so they will know by the time of enrollment I would complete all the required courses)

I’m planning to apply to USC as a junior for Fall 2014 my main major is Human Biology, so I can get into their kinesiology major. Are their any former transfer students who successfully transferred to USC as a Human Biology of Kineisology in Dornslife know if it was competitive to get in?

Is anyone else applying to Marshall?
I’m applying to USC Marshall for fall 2014. I had a 3.9 but slacked off last semester and now it’ll drop to around a 3.5

@FutureTrojan24 As far as I know, kinesiology in USC is ranked top in the world, so I am sure it’s extremely competitive. One of my friends in University of Toronto is thinking about transferring to USC for kinesiology program too but then he is intimidated by the acceptance rate there. But you should still go for it, because if you don’t apply the chance of getting in is absolutely ZERO, so best of luck!

@Clordia I talked with my counselor connected with USC to my community college and told me USC took down Kinesiology as an undergraduate major 2 years ago. Instead they created a Human Performance Major for Human Biology Majors who’s interested in Kinesiology. In my opinion, Kinesiology at USC is not ranked top in the world because of that scenario. Also, tuition is expensive.

@Travel7Seas How did your GPA drop that low? In my opinion, if you are applying as an incoming sophomore I would wait another year and make up that GPA by doing some extracurricular activities based on your major and bring that GPA up the next year.

I am a sophomore BBA student. I would like to transfer to Marshall . However, I could not meet the prerequisite for two English composition. My university only offers me Business Writing courses. Would USC consider my application eligible if I have done 3 business writing courses and I am willing to spend two more semesters taking any classes that allow me to graduate.

I’m applying for junior transfer. I’ve taken over loaded semesters all semesters and usually with a 4.0. This last semester, I petitioned to go over with 19 units. I got it and then stopped going to classes. But I passed all classes so that’s good.

For the essays, I’m going to write about my work experience with startup, volunteer trips to third world, and work with nonprofits.

I have a quick question:
On the quick word answers, below the “describe yourself in three words” there are two slots “Quick Takes Self 2” and “Quick Takes Self 3”. Does anyone know what goes there?

Much appreciated. I’m making sure not to make mistakes because I noticed many mistakes on my NYU app.

ccstudentIL… Nice job! As a fellow out-of-state, PTK community college guy that got into USC, I think you are creating a competitive application that will highlight how much you’ve grown since high school. I didn’t even graduate high school and my grades were pretty embarrassing, but USC is more of a “what-have-you-done-for-me-lately” kind of school. Getting the foreign language, college-level english and math requirements out of the way will also help. Good luck!
