@ForeverGymnast21 You are very competitive!! Be confident! btw isn’t that GE 4 must be taken at USC?
Thanks everyone! And I think so! I actually just looked at the articulation agreement and I don’t have 4 yet! I thought I did! I printed it out and highlighted everything completed so I can keep track of everything and highlighted it by mistake! Haha but I have pretty much everything else done! Although I have Calculus still in progress. @Severn777
@ForeverGymnast21 you’ll be fine!
I’ve seen two other students trying to transfer from PSU. Penn state kids always show up in groups. :))
@20tigger17 My major was Economics and PPD Why?
Hi guys, your posts are making me very nervous. I applied to Marshall with a 3.9 GPA, 63 units by the the end of spring, and all pre reqs completed. I am seeing so many people receiving an acceptance letter but me! Do you think it’s a good idea to call them and ask about my application? Or are they going to get annoyed?
@1hellohello1 that wont really help or speed up the process, be patient and confident in your work and that you’ve done enough. decisions will be rolling out over the course of the next few days/weeks
@1hellohello1 You seem very qualified for Marshall in my opinion - just reading the posts over on pg 3 of the Official Transfer acceptance stats 2015/16 @20tigger17 was notified last Thurs. 4/29 much earlier than 6/1 the youSC promised notice date. There’s many of us who haven’t heard back yet although some need to submit WGR or SGR - certainly ppl will get accepted this week but by the looks of last years trend some are going to wait others not. If you call they can’t tell you much over the phone but if it somehow helps speed things up then I say go for it
@20tigger17 Way to go submitting your deposit on-line already that’s awesome news joining the SC legacy train!!!
do you guys know how we find out about which credits transfer
@sm258412 you can check the USC articulation agreement!
@sm258412 If you’re at a CCC with an articulation agreement these can be accessed through the USC Articulation Office website - some local 4yr also have articulation histories - easy to follow by plugging in the school and then comparing what classes you’ve taken. My OOS 4yr doesn’t have this available so it’s a bit more tricky - remember usc calculates your transfer GPA on the basis of your grades in all usc-transferable courses.
@TonyStark93 I was just curious what school you were applying to, as that seems to determine the approximate decision time. So then it seems like Dornsife decisions are just coming out, hopefully you’ll see yours soon!
@1hellohello1, you seem like a super competitive applicant as far as Marshall goes, and I don’t think very many Marshall applicants have heard back yet… But it seems like they are starting to pick up the pace so hopefully you will hear soon. I’m not sure you will get much more info than “yes your file is complete, we don’t need anything else from you” if you call, but you should definitely try if you think you’ll get some info!
Thanks @madlion21, I’m super excited to be going down this road, especially since my USC parent was Marshall too!!
@madlion21 thanks! i’m from an out of state college too, how am i able to figure it out then?
Does anyone know how I can find a roommate? I heard USC sends out a fb page to all the transfer? I also found a fb group “fall 2015 USC transfers” but I still have not been accepted into the group. It says pending lol.
They have until June 1st to notify you upon an admissions decision or a request for spring grades. If you don’t here by then, I believe it would be appropriate to call them about it. Until then, hang in there
@sm258412 Didn’t you just get accepted like last week? If so major congrats! Do you have access to oasis? That will shows what classes usc has transferred over in the stars report or course transfer section once you’re accepted. Not sure if everything will be there seeing as I don’t have this myself maybe other ppl who have been admitted can help out here? If you believe some classes didn’t transfer over but should have usc is pretty good at letting you petition the courses you took elsewhere but make sure you keep any papers/syllabus/records to help make your case.
Whenever you get a chance post your successful stats on the Official 2014/15 Transfer Page thanks! http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/1772049-usc-transfer-2015-2016.html
@nguod94 Congratulations on your acceptance it’s smart to start looking for a roommate early - my friends who transferred picked apartments that had roommate matching already set up as an option it’s random but does do a good job putting ppl together that are compatible (usc housing also has this for first year and transfers) while you are waiting for the fb group to accept you try searching on-line for housing in your price range and desired location - good luck!
hey guys i’m a first year at UC Irvine and i currently have a 3.8 gpa and i recently got my SGR about two days ago. I am applying for marshall at usc, what would you guys say is a competitive gpa for it?
@ucirvinetousc lol I applied from UCSD and I haven’t gotten any kind of change on youSC No SGR, WGR, or anything and I also applied to Marshall. At the time of the app, I had a 3.89 and dropped to a 3.87 during winter quarter. I heard anything above 3.8 should be competitive.
Anyone heard of having 3.9+ gpa with over 60 units by the time of applying got rejected from Marshall? I see there are some marshall applicant already got their acceptance… congrats btw but when is my turn USC!!!
Guys one of my friends told me that if you don’t get an SRG it’s an early sign of rejection and if you did get one it’s as if you made the “first round”. Can anyone reassure me this is not real?
