@samchoochiu @WinkleJohn I’m a Dornsife applicant, still havent heard back from USC. Not even SGR. I’m basically going to this thread every morning and look at the #admitusc on instagr to find some clues.
I have applied as an Econ major in the Dornsife college. My GPA is 3.57 and I’ve completed all my major requirements as well as all courses listed on the articulation agreement. I have one recommendation and I think my essay was pretty good. Is my gpa too low or do I have a chance.
@madlion21 well i’d love to go to USC and nope it’s the only school I wanted to transfer to… but i feel like putting down my deposit without knowing how many credits transfer over is a bit risky. I wish there was a way I could find out without having to do that but thanks so much for all your help!
Hey everyone again! I’m moving out of my dorm in a month so I just changed my address but I’m not sure if my parents are as anxious to check the mail for me daily.
Does the You.SC portal update after you’ve been admitted or does it update beforehand?
Thanks
@da6614 I would say you have a chance, but how are your EC’s? I’m also an Econ major, and I’m super anxious that I haven’t heard anything!
My first choice major is Computer Engineering and Computer Science while my second choice is Physics/Computer Science. I have yet to hear from Viterbi or Dornsife so you guys are not the only one. My friend got into Viterbi last year and he said he got the letter on May 12th so hopefully by this week or next week.
@FragrantGreenTea for me my portal updated first and then I got my SGR in the mail 4 days later!
@jasmine2468 Thanks,I just checked it out. I wonder if they have sent decisions to acting majors yet?
@1mHello1m I agree with you, it is such a nerve wracking process ! Did you apply for SDA?
I’m hearing a lot of people talk about sending their admissions counselors information about their internships in an attempt to bolster their chances - can anybody clarify on that? What’s the process for that?
I feel bad now because I don’t really talk to my counselor that much, but I got an internship as an Android developer at Amazon for this summer and as a CS major I feel like that could help my chances a bit! Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: Also, yeah, as a Viterbi applicant it totally sucks to have zero information out so far…
@filmbuff24 I saw her post and freaked out too! Then I checked her account and she is a freshman. She received her decision 5 weeks ago and just committed 5 days ago
I know #stalkermode on
Does anyone know if it would be possible to appeal my financial aid package because of travel expenses?
has anyone heard from annenberg yet?
@NCXfer Have you called to ask? usc FA website says: "Travel expenses for undergraduates from out-of-state/out-of-area (maximum of two round-trips home per school year)
- Itemization of expenses.
- Receipt or Internet printout to show expenses to be incurred
Possible budget increase for travel will increase any Plus loans or private financing - curious to see what they say to you - have been frequently taking East Coast/CA route expensive even with ff miles never thought to ask my current OOS to help cover it darn.
@acole Yes! I applied to both BA in dramatic arts and BFA in acting majors! I haven’t seen acting majors getting admissions at least online! So… haha
@lancaster29 I just received news of an internship i will be completing this summer with Merrill Lynch in LA. I found my admissions counselor online (depends what area you are from) and emailed her about it. I just said I wasn’t able to include this in my application but thought it was worth mentioning because i just accepted the position. Then just described what I would be doing for the company. She emailed back saying congrats and that she would take it in to consideration when reviewing my application. Hope this helps!
@jasmine2468 Ohh good info! Thanks
got accepted to LMU this morning…now just anxiously waiting for USC.
@ajw14f LMU is a great school fantastic ocean view nice job getting in - hope your sc package arrives soon!
@sm258412 wish you had gotten more info sorry - good luck on your decision keep us posted…
I just got a request for an SGR. I’m due to get a 4.0. Can I still get rejected?
Did you get your decision by mail or MyLMU? I still haven’t received anything and decisions were supposed to go out on May 1
