Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

I was just wondering what PM meant and how you did that? Sry I’m not a professional at this

@csunmadator PM means private message ^^ and I honestly have no idea. I was part of the Trojan Transfer Program (I’m a legacy) so I don’t know if that helped. I also had an upward trend in my grade progress so I hope that sealed the deal (got a 4.0 for the 2013-2014 term).

@Jmag95 I’m planning on getting into USC but I might apply to Rice, and Cornell, maybe a state school. Ultimately I want to go somewhere that is enjoyable if all else fails.

@Numbersz Oooh I LOVE Rice! I was planning on applying to transfer there, but for non academic reasons I decided not to apply. I lived in Houston for 5 years, visited Rice frequently, and have a couple of friends there. Also, seems like USC is your safe school if Cornell and Rice are other choices haha. USC isn’t a reach but it isn’t quite a safe school for me.

I haven’t visited any schools, but it’s nice to know that Rice is worth looking at too… at first I didn’t even consider any schools that were small but Rice seems cool.

Yeah, I would consider the others reaches. USC I feel confident about. I only have a GED so anything could happen though…

Hi all, I was admitted into the Marshall School of Business starting Spring 2015. I have quite the success story. If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)

@ForeverGymnast21 It must be taken at 'SC.

Also, it really just depends. At the time I applied I only had 27 total college credits. My high school record was unimpressive. However, I had an upward trend (took DC courses in HS and maintained a 3.7, ended my first real semester of college with a 3.88, ended my first year of college with a 3.91). I also graduated high school 1 year early and had significant reasons as to why I did not perform optimally back then. My essays were also inspired (not my best–but I digress) and I had a good list of EC’s.

It’s not all about GPA, trust me

delete

I’m applying to USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, which has a 4% acceptance rate :open_mouth: but I’m staying positive and working my best on the application! Best of luck to all of you!

HEYYYYY!!
A little about my profile~
I’m going to be applying for USC Fall 2015 for sophomore year as an OOS. I attend college in Florida right now and always wanted to attend USC except I messed up the beginning of my high school career and ended with a 3.27 GPA, but during my junior and senior year I was able to take many AP’'s which definitely sparked my interest in learning and attained higher grades.
I am planning on applying to environmental engineering at USC with a 4.0 GPA and some ECs that I am interested in. Hopefully we all get in! USC has always been one of my dream schools! Fight ON!! :)>-

@jakecasino‌ Good luck man! I’m quite sure you’ll be able to get in, keep us updated :)

Applying for Spring 2015. Psychology major from So Flo with a 3.95 and an A.A., also I have taken all of the prerequisites and am doing an internship this semester. Do I have a chance?

@PSC2IVY‌ What school are you coming from? Btw your GPA is nearly perfect and the fact that you have an internship is already making you stand out. I think you have a great shot at getting accepted :)

@PSC2IVY I think you have a great shot as well. Mind chancing me? Stats are on first page.

Do we need to have two semesters of a diversity requirement or only one?

@porkgrind I believe just one semester.

@porkgrind @NCXfer Here is the link to the requirements. Diversity isn’t required, just recommended. http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/docs/TransferingPlanningWorksheet2014.pdf

Thank you guys!! Another question: can a single class fill more than one GE requirement? I’m taking a world religions class and I think it could fill GE requirements I and II

And just for kicks: what major/college at usc are you applying to for transfer?

@porkgrind I don’t know, that’s a good question. I’d call and ask. My info is on the first page.

@JMag95 That’s a good idea, I’ll do that tomorrow. I’m at a state school and applying to viterbi as a second choice, but for their business admin/comp sci major.

hi guys, I’m going to be applying for USC Spring 2015 for junior year as a journalism major. but i only got a 3.3 gap, don’t know is the minimum gap 3.0 or 3.3 for getting in? but i’ve took some courses already since it’s a minor in my previous university.
