@jakecasino Thats great bro! Is the Interview because Cinematic arts is your major? Either way this can only be good news. USC wouldn’t waste their time contacting you if they weren’t considering you, Very good sign! I hope you get in bro!
Hey @jucery13! I actually got accepted to CSULB (also got into CSUF, CSULA, & CSUDH) for Fall 15 as a journalism major. Just wondering what’s your major and what has your experience been like so far? I applied to Annenberg as a Communications major for my 1st choice & broadcast journalism as my 2nd choice. I was rejected from USC last year, but hopefully I have a better shot this year since I have all the GE’s done including diversity, 3rd semester language, & lower div. writing. If not, I’ll be heading to CSULB.
@zettasyntax I was in the same boat as you! Since I got rejected from USC, I had no where else to go -_-. (Didn’t apply anywhere else). So during the summer, I applied for Spring admission to CSULB, and was because of that 1 speech class. I’ve been accepted for Fall 15 now though. I ended up taking the speech class Fall 14.
@futuretrojan93
CSULB is pretty cool not gonna lie, the campus is actually decently big, not HUGE, but not small either. There are plenty of clubs to join, and in the beginning of every semester there is a Week Welcome, which is when all the clubs come out, kind of like an expo. The gym, in CSULB is freaking awesome(really new build like in 2009 or so) I go there everyday, this is essentially my second home, I spent most of my free time in there, and most of the people i talk to are gym rats as well. The social scene is alright, if partying is what you are trying to do, go Greek(very few are greek, unlike USC), otherwise there will not be to much going on. I’m currently a business major, i actually just made the switch this semester. Let me know if you have any other questions. I to will be done with all the GEs and pre reqs, hopefully it helps us get accepted!.
@futuretrojan93 what was your stats when you got rejected the first time you applied? I applied as a communications major as well. I hope we both get in!
Did anyone apply as Undecided? lol i feel like im the only one
Did anyone else apply to dornsife as a global studies or NGOS and Social Change major? Which are the easiest majors to get into in Dornsife?
Hey guys!!
Someone from USC office of admissions just called me and left a voice mail saying she needs to ask me some questions about my application and needs clarification. I just looked over my application but didn’t see any error, what do you think this means?
@Ellie64 they probably just want clarification on some of the classes you have taken. Some people from last years thread got the same call I think.
It’s kind of cool that admission is reaching out to transfer applicants, it lets me know that they are looking at our applications, thats pretty exciting!
Very true. I’m somewhat worried about them not contacting me. I remember them bugging me like crazy last year and sending me multiple notices for things. I wonder if I have a new admissions counselor even.
@zettasyntax, did you check online, if your counselor is the same
@jucery13 I have no idea how to check. I did start attending a new CC in addition to my usual one, so I put the new one as my current CC. I don’t know if that means a new counselor though. Probably not
@zettasyntax, I’m pretty sure I posted the link before but just type in your city. For me CSULB wouldn’t come up, because it turns out it was under Calif St Univ Long Beach. So at first I did not know who to contact, but when i typed on long beach it appeared like that and it showed me my counselor.
And just to let you guys know, the women who called me is my admissions counselor! Does this mean she is the one reviewing and deciding on my application?
@Ellie64 - No she is not. Admissions counselor’s are the conduit through which questions to the applicants are funneled. But, this is good news. It means they are reviewing your application.
Omg, ACCEPTED! Checked my portal just now. I was accepted for my alternate major. Totally unexpected, I’m freaking out! 3.1 GPA, accepted to my alternate major, even though it’s way more competitive.
Good luck to everyone!
@RAHforHEE OMG CONGRATS!!! What’s your major!!! How exciting ugh now I’m really nervous
Congrats!!! @RAHforHEE
@weare1 @Msmclagirl Hey, guys thanks for the support! My first choice major was policy planning and development and my second choice, the one I was accepted for is Global Health, under the Keck School of Medicine!
congrats! did you log onto your you.usc to check your admissions?
