Do you guys know if hearing earlier is better? I have high hopes ill probably get a 3.79 this semester if not a 4.0. My semester is over on May 15 so ill be submitting spring grades before the start of June.
Jesus, it’s only late April, they have an ENTIRE month to go before they have to send all out, your all going to get a response, just RELAX.
@Mrowsey Hey I did too! I applied to both BFA and BA… since our auditions are done way back in January, aren’t we supposed to hear early about the results? Applying to theatre program as a transfer is a rare case so there is not much information 
@jucery13 How is it that your csu gpa and usc gpa is calculated differently? Just curious as to how you calculated your usc gpa.
I’m a sophmore transfer and I haven’t heard anything back but I highly doubt I got in considering that I would be a sophmore @ForeverGymnast21
@1mHello1m @Mrowsey Although I didn’t apply to the theater program, I did apply within the arts! I applied to Thornton school of music and already heard back, so maybe there’s hope you’ll find out soon too! I know, it’s definitely rarer to see applicants in arts majors!

@samchoochiu for USC GPA i read some where that you only count classes that transfer over, two classes that I take didn’t transfer over for so thats why mine went down, I’m not 100% sure but thats how i did it
@jucery13 Just read the same thing you are talking about where “USC calculates your transfer GPA on the basis of your grades in all USC-transferable courses” Wondering how you know for sure that two of your classes won’t transfer over to USC? I’m going to have to try and recalculate my own transfer GPA what method did you use to do yours?
IF you go to a California CC check the articulation agreements, if you go to 4 year school or out of state CC, check the articulation histories, those should tell you what transfers over and what doesn’t. USC WILL NOT look at classes that don’t transfer, so if you guys have taken some BS classes that raise GPA, but doesn’t transfer over, you wasted your time.
@MakeMilDolMove Thanks for the info - CA CC was easy to calculate now need to figure out 4 year OOS articulation history - some “BS classes” were required by the school but you’re right won’t transfer over to USC so they were a big waste of time.
@1mHello1m I received my acceptance package on April 24th and my letter was dated April 22nd. Super strange thing though is that my portal is completely un-updated. It’s looked like it has for months. Needless to say, my package was totally unexpected, especially since my portal had zero updates! I definitely thought I’d have to wait another month. But anyways, keep checking the mail! Mine came that way first!
@aubreygiveshugs Really? That is so scary… ahh I am not home cuz I am dorming so I wouldn’t know if they send out mails. They should just notify via email. Yeah my portal just says “We will be reviewing through the month of May and blah blah blah.” What was the color of your package? I am super nervous now. Haha. you must be really proud of yourself!!! Congrats again!
since I got an SGR from Dornsife. if I get a 4.0 would that mean I get admitted?
I feel like the acceptances will be coming out this week and next week. Last year they sent out an influx of acceptances around this time. The wait is seriously killing me.
@1mHello1m ohh thank you! Ahhh well hopefully everyone else gets notified online first unlike me! I think that’s the way it’s supposed to work but for some reason it was different with me. I hope you get an email soon!! I just got off the phone with admissions about my portal not updating and she had me on hold for a little while to see what the problem was, and then said the system was just lagging for some reason. She said I should be able to see my acceptance online within the next week. My portal says the same as yours still! So weird! The package is beautiful, it’s in a large gold envelope with the USC logo on the bottom, and inside it’s a thick red folder. Just hang in there, don’t be nervous! It’s looking like decisions are being sent out really early this year. I wouldn’t be surprised if you heard back within the next week!
@trnsfrstdnt Getting a SGR from Dornsife sounds like they are happy with you so far and if your 4.0 are from classes that transfer over to USC then you are solid and should get admitted no guarantee but looks promising - now it’s just a waiting game…
