@invalid99 USC has a very very high amount of international student admits and regularly accepts students transferring in from out of state.
Received a SGR today; Dornsife, entering as a sophomore
@HappyLifeMachine ok so they will give me a better shot than these uc schools, it’s unfair to compete with some of these community college kids because Penn State has a reputation for making engineering students drop out of their major. My first physics class went from 75 to 18 students… I’m sorry but I can’t have a 4.0 .there are professors out there who refuse to give out A’s and no one can tell them anything. Back to my point , I’m hoping USC reviews that I am coming from a strong engineering university with over 70 credits taken in 2 years. Apparently the uc schools didn’t care much for that because they have to keep their out of state number to a minimal
@invalid99 Penn State is an amazing school and yes you have a hard major two of my cousins left engineering after sophomore year one is at Columbia and switched to Philosophy - give you credit for sticking it out - knowing usc they will not just be plugging the numbers like the uc schools sometimes have to do but just be aware of the financial aid sometimes it’s not what you expect especially as a transfer student and it goes up each year.
@invalid99 It’s not up to USC to see how rigorous the coursework at the school your transferring from is, all they do is review your application, and unless you mentioned it, I doubt they would care where you came from. That’s why they offer so many spots to CC students, because CC can be just as difficult, if not more difficult than some universities. So saying its unfair to admit more CC students, is like saying CC students don’t deserve to be at USC.
My golden envelope came today!! I am so beyond stoked. Got accepted at Dornsife for Human Bio, which was my first choice.
@MedicMatt Congrats!!! So I guess the results are slowly coming out. Is your portal updated too? And can I ask where u live and the date the envelope was sent? You must be really proud!
ATTENTION!!
GUYS I MADE A NEW THREAD FOR USC TRANSFER 2015-2016.
Can we all talk here from now on? Thanks.

@MedicMatt Great news congratulations! Put your stats on the new above link - and btw thanks for making the thread @1mHello1m
@anamazing I was not trying to start a fight with any CC students, my main point was that the UC system takes approximately 93% in-state students and a lousy 7% out-of state students.
@MedicMatt Congrats!! Did you receive any messages on YouSC, or was your only notification through the mail? Also are you in state or OOS?
Thanks!
And still nothing on YouSC, only mail. @NCXfer I’m in state.
@MedicMatt Congrats bro!
Quick question, has anyone heard of any transfer students getting denied yet?
How difficult do you guys think it would be to switch majors? I applied for Biological Sciences, but it was not until I just saw @MedicMatt’s post (congrats on the acceptance, by the way) that I knew there was a Human Biology major available! This would definitely be my preferred major as I am pre-med. I don’t know what to do!
@invalid99 ummmm yea, a LOT do, i’m 100% sure USC doesn’t go, well he’s a transfer student, he’s in…
@cs2015 As far as I know, if you’re accepted and attending USC, changing your major is relatively easy as long as it’s within the same college. So for example, if I was a CE major in Viterbi I could likely switch to CS which is also Viterbi. No majors at USC are impacted.
@MakeMilDolMove I don’t think you understood my question, let me rephrase it. Has there been any denial letters or notices sent out already for the transfer class of 2015? Like for the application pool for the fall of 2015.
@invalid99 no one has received a rejection yet, only SGR’s WGR’s and acceptances, rejections will probably be sent out mid-may
@MedicMatt Congrats Bro! Are you a sophomore or junior transfer??
