Hey guys! I wanted to make another thread for students who plan on transferring to USC fall 2016. 2014 and 2015 thread were very helpful and contain almost the same information, but I wanted to make another just so we all can share our experiences.
Just a little about me:
I graduated high school in 2014 and went straight to a four year private womens university in Los Angeles (that’s a mouth full). I’m from and live in Los Angeles. Anyway, I spent an entire school year there and hated it and took out way to many loans. I applied to USC as a global studies majors (I still am one) for fall 2015, unfortunately i was rejected. After finishing my year at the private school I transferred into two community colleges and am getting my AA degree in global studies and graduating next spring. My GPA right about now is around a 3.5-3.8 and will have about 84 units completed by the end of next spring. Bottom line, I really hope i get accepted into USC for fall 2016. Hopefully you guys share as well
There actually is a transfer thread for 2016 applicants post your info there. The names a bit strange but its the one most of us have been using. Check it out. Just out of curiosity(ignore me if this is intrusive) did you go to Scripps College?

@Orangered123 Thanks so much! And know I went to Mount St. Mary’s in los angeles for my freshman year now i’m at smc
HI, if i have a 2.559 will i get in to USC? if I’m completing another semester and have outstanding major extra-circulars over 1300 hours in community service, part of student government at community college, and I have two youth groups I help manage, Sunday school tutor, tutoring for family friends and family. From Fresno, CA too. Plus, reason why i had such a low gpa because my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and also, I had two losses in my family. Still managed to finish school. I just need somebody to tell me there can be a slight chance.
Currently at Brandeis University with a 3.5 GPA. Want to transfer to USC. In highschool, I had a 4.1 weighted gpa/ 3.6 unweighted and got a 33 on the ACT. Did internships at trading firms, services projects at Haiti (twice), and was a part of the Varsity tennis team for three years. What are my chances of getting in…?
Hey guys I was wondering if you guys think I will have a shot at an acceptance for Fall 2016 to USC Marshall Pre-Accounting.
Community College GPA: 3.59
USC Transferable GPA: 3.73
Units Completed: 59 (CC) / 48 (USC Transferable)
Units in Progress: 16 (CC) / 13 (USC Transferable)
Pre Reqs Completed: Business Calc, 2nd Semester English Honors, Financial and Managerial Accounting (Received A’s in all)
GEs Completed: Missing one of them after spring
Job: Worked (now currently manage) at my family’s pizzeria since freshman year of high school and a tutoring job at my college my third year (this year)
ECs: Secretary of Volunteer club in high school
Letters of Recommendation: 1 from my accounting professor (maybe one from my biology and/or calc professor too)
Comments: I have two Ws one from a philosophy class over the summer and one was last spring in pre-calculus. I also went below 12 units when I dropped pre calc (and received the W) and I had 10 units the semester before, but I am explaining that it was incredibly difficult to get classes because I wasn’t in the honors program at that time and didn’t get priority registration.
Hi everyone! I’m wondering if I should even consider applying to USC. I think my GPA is a bit too low…I’m coming from a CC with 28.66 units, and I have a 3.49. I’m going to apply for either Public Relations or History. Is it worth applying?
can someone please tell me the personal statement question?
does anyone know if we possibly get notified before June 1st as transfers?
Just received my acceptance letter in the mail today!! Good luck everyone!
