I hear they are sending out a lot of decisions tomorrow... and will continue to do so on saturdays

the decisions are sent out on fridays, not saturdays- although you may receive them on a saturday. good luck! : )

hayden: you can also check the website. if they've sent the letter out, you can enter your USC ID and birthdate on the explore usc site, and it'll work for you. you can also call the admissions office- thats how i initially found out, although my letter arrived a couple days later.

amiradaprincess, where did you hear that? I'm so impatient, the waiting kills me.

sarahjhansen - can you tell me where the "explore usc" site is? I've tried the apply sites, and the gateway sites, but I don't find anything that says explore. Thanks a lot for helping.

Hm. I called, and I didn't want to ask straight up if I was accepted, so I just sort of asked her about the recent acceptances being sent out (I called for another reason, so it wasn't just that), and she told me about it, cofirmed my address, and then told me I'd hear from them in the next couple days. I didn't think it meant I was definitely in (she could have meant that I'll hear from them if I'm going to be accepted, although she didn't say that last part, and the confirming my address would be strange if that was what she meant), but I took it as a good thing. Unfortunately, that was Tuesday, and Explore USC doesn't have anything for me, so I guess she didn't mean that I was accepted, which, if true, probably means that I was rejected, because she wouldn't say that unless my application was, at the very least, going to be reviewed soon.
shirobot what were ur stats?

This sucks. My stickers have 1 ID number and my Midyear Report has another number. Neither of them work!

But I got this Honors Science Program invitation, so I don't know if I was accepted or not.

I have the same problem, For5aken, with the 2 USC IDs. She said they merged them or something. That was the other thing I was calling about. >_>

Applying to Critical Studies at CNTV
1450 MV (740M, 710V) / 2150 MVW (700W)
800 Math IIC, 710 Literature
4.0 UW / 4.833 W / 3 out of 362 W
7 APs (5 Lit, 5 Calc AB, 4 Euro, Planned: Gov, Stat, Bio, and Calc BC)
Horrible ECs, hopefully very good essays, writing sample, and recs
No real hooks. >_>

Please guys--- don't be anxious--- all of you who have posted stats are very competitive and I am sure you will ALL get in! You should all be so proud of yourselves....

Please don't worry! The early acceptances are for a small group that fill certain needs at the school--- The bulk of acceptances have not yet gone out so please please please do not worry!

yea, Shirobot. I'm gettin' real tired of people like you who are concerned about gettin in to an averagely competitive school when they have stats that are incredible. Stop making others feel worse about themselves. Here are the stats of an average USC admitted Freshman: SAT-1390 GPA- 3.8uw, If your stats are well above these, please do not post them.

Um, darkadvantage, take a look at specifically where I'm applying: Critical Studies at CNTV. Then, notice my lack of ECs, which directly indicates a lack of experience in film (I actually have no experience). Then, consider the fact that CNTV's acceptance rate is, according to all of the unofficial sources I've seen, around 10% (they tend to have some of most academically qualified students in the school, too). Plus, my parents have a high enough income that I won't get financial aid, but low enough that, with high debt and no real savings to speak of, I probably can't pay. So I think I'll be anxious if I want to be anxious, and I'll post my stats if someone asks me to.

You mentioned "they tend to have some of most academically qualified students in the school, too." ...... what was you class rank again?

What I meant was that they have people experienced in film, and the fact that my academic stats are good doesn't necessarily make up for that because most of the experienced people they get have great academic stats anyway.

Anyway, why are we arguing about this? >_> I think I have a legit reason to worry about being admitted, and you don't agree. I'm sorry if you think I was being arrogant by posting my stats, but I really do think you need to look at the whole situation.

Wow... people like u guys make me feel really stupid (3.4 weighted GPA/ 2010 composite SAT). I must have like zero chance... great...

you guys.. please dont be poopfaces.
post your stats if you want to
don't post them if you don't to.
and FIGHT ON!!!!!

LOL LOL amirada... no its people like you guys who make ME feel stupid...... 3.76 weighted GPA and an 1850 SAT.... now who has the lowest scores?? lol.... oh well, I guess anyone has a shot, but I have good ECs and IMO pretty good essays, so you never know. Now it is out, I am retarded in compariosn to all you other CC posters! I speak for those of us who are the lower range... dont give up hope!!

For5aken, did you get the Honors Science Program invitation through the mail? How many kids are accepted into this program each year?

shirobot: that means you're in. i was told the same thing. congrats!!!
