SenorMatador, i am relatively on the same level you are, 4.0W 1860 SAT... waiting for new results of subject tests on monday...im scared.

ok... everyone who has a 4.0... just shut up :-)... i wonder if having two USC IDs is troublesome because my the stickers on my supplemental materials (recs, transcript) have a different number than the acknowledgement letters that they sent me. What if when reviewing my application they think that i'm missing my supplementals?

just call the admissions office and doublecheck.

noVA16: Yes, I got my invitation in the mail. It said that only 50 people are accepted into the program. Did you get it too? That letter confuses the hell out of me. Why can't they just say "ACCEPTED?"

alright so there's definitely a blizzard in new york right now and they NEED to send the letters to make us feel better....

blahhh

ps. I have a two ID problem too... they also told me they merged the accounts, but I'm still worried. My IDs never work on the websites either... ugh

Ya so how bout that blizzard?? I read about it in the papers back here in CA.... nothing like goold ol sunshine! :)
And oh yeah... good luck on your scores Jimmy! People like us need to bond together here on the CC boards to prove that we too have a voice unlike the 4.o UW peeps.... this is a new movement for the underrepresented!! hehe :)

same problem with 2 ID #s, same blizzard here in Boston

now my friends understand why I want to move to LA!

hah lonefreckle me too. i cant stand boston, no one from my school is really applying to ca either, its crazy. i cant wait to get out.

I'm one of I think 3 people applying to CA at my school. Its a small school too, so I'm the first one of apply to USC in over 5 years they think. My school tends to breed raging hippies and most go to Sarah Lawrence/Oberlin/Vassar etc.

I was worried about the fact that Explore USC still wasn't working, and I hadn't received anything, so I called again. I asked the guy to whom I spoke (who was a total jerk, actually) to let me know if I correctly interpreted what the woman I spoke to earlier said (she said, "You'll hear from us in a few days," after confirming my address and stuff). He said that I hadn't been accepted. D: Oh well, I guess she was speaking hypothetically, then, but that's pretty misleading. =

It's all worth the wait!
KEEP WAITING GUYS!

It's the best feeling in the world to see that package in your mailbox. You just want to scream out randomly for three second intervals. (well, i did anyway lol)

I just called USC and waited for 25 minutes and this really mean sounding guy answered. I was like "I think I have two different USC ID numbers"
He's like "that's okay".
I'm like "ummm... okay"
I was like "can you check to see if you got all my supplementary materials". He asks for my first and last name and then says "your file is complete, everything's okay"
I'm not gonna overanalyze... but if my file is complete... well are they done with my app and like i'm rejected cuz he didn't say anything else. Is this typical?

You probably got the same guy as me; he spoke in a similar annoyingly terse way. I wouldn't worry about it meaning rejection, though, because I think they've just been deciding scholarship-eligible acceptees.

lol, I seriously hope that the guy who you guys talked to isn't the same guy I saw while waiting for my interview at the admissions office slamming stuff down and grunting alot while typing on the computer and talking on the phones at the same time. The people they have who do that sort of thing you guys describe (basic filing, taking in people at the office, answering all calls) are typically the students, which he was.

Small chance that it was him but anyways, this is a very stressful time for the admissions office and they are surely fielding a heck of a lot of calls right now. So you got to have a little bit of remorse for them as they are answering calls and e-mails 24/7 and they are nonstop workaholics.

Yeah, I understand that it's stressful for them, and they probably don't appreciate people calling in nonstop because of what could be perceived as impatience, but they don't need to be rude (idealistically, I mean). For example, while I was explaining what I took the other girl's comments to mean (I hadn't been talking a long time or anything), the guy just interupted me mid-sentence and grunted, "No," and I just had to respond, "Oh. Okay. Thanks. Bye." I mean, it's stressful on applicants as well as those working in the admissions office. >_>

In a week, I went from thinking I was in the running for a scholarship that could make a significant difference to still fearing a rejection. D:

Does anyone know if they're going to continue sending acceptances/decisions to those not receiving scholarships now?

i like how you only got 2 id numbers....i had 3, called them and they told me it was the first one i recieved....also i got this hand book and letter requesting midyear reports...i guess ill just have to wait and see

i had 2 id numbers too, but i emailed the financial aid office to fax the tax stuff and he clarified which number was the primary one, turns out it was the number they gave me in my acknowledgement, not the one on the labels.....

This is nerve racking for all of us including me I don't know what to do but if i get rejected I will transfer class of 2010 of USC all the way in other words I will not give up until I get accepted! ; D

God... waiting for the decision is worse than getting rejected.

hahha i know i hate waiting : / i just want to know so I can make my next move but i sure can't wait till' college though
