Well I understand there is no direct correlation as in not everyone who gets a scholarship will automatically get into an Ivy. But is it logical to say since the scholarships are given to the most competitive students and schools like the Ivys only take the most competitive students, that there is sometime of correlation.
@ibther4iam The definitely send a letter that says you aren’t getting a scholarship but are still in the running to be accepted, stayed tuned till April 1st. If history repeats that will come around Saturday or next Monday. (Leaving people to be tortured for many days!)
@blueskies2day That’s not true. Last year, they sent them out in multiple batches.

What do you mean in multiple batches? Like one Socal applicant could potentially have gotten it on Saturday and another on Thursday?
@Jay2631 Nope. Not yet. @couplemoreweeks I mean. Last year, they didn’t just send out one gigantic bunch. It was several batches.
I’m from Portland, OR and got my package today. interviewing for the Trustee scholarship! 33 on the ACT, 3.98 UW and 4.3 W GPA
That moment when I’m just sitting here reading all of these excitement and nerve-racking comments, and remember that I am an international with a P.O. Box in Miami, so I’ll probably have to wait like 20 days for my letter to arrive, if any … I wish they were sent by email! #-o
So if you get a scholarship are you in basically?
@couplemoreweeks Don’t quote me on anything but it’s possible that there could be some more presidential/trustee ones that are yet to be sent, but deep down I’m kind of doubting that. I’m thinking she likely meant Dean’s and others. All in all from our conversation, I gathered that they are not done mailing out scholarships, but beyond that nothing seems too certain.

Right but weren’t they all mailed the same day? Like the people in SoCal would get it first and then the next day maybe Norcal and then the next day like the Midwest. Is that what you mean by batches?
Again, if you just looked at last years threads, you can see that they are post marked for the course of the entire week. Not just all in one day. Lots of Debbie Downers here. I’ll just wait for my decision before I come back.
The article from the admissions office clearly said all of the the Pres/Trustees/Stamps/Mork were sent out on Friday, not sure about Dean’s but people are getting those on here so it seems they were sent. But I do think they can come later with admissions in March. Never heard of batches being sent out at different times, that would be new that I know of, but CaliCash seems to remember that from last year. This is not one of USCs finest hours, they really should let everyone know at the same time. This clearly creates a line in the sand for the have and have nots.
@StevenToCollege Yes, it is a big deal… if you actually get it. I am a candidate as well and we are selected either by high SAT/ACT scores or achievement in the arts. Actually BECOMING a US Presidential Scholar is notoriously competitive/impossible and a great accomplishment. Doubt I’ll make it through the semifinals but a girl can hope

just looked through that and it seems they were all postmarked the same day. Some people wrote the day it was received, not the day it was postmarked

@arjunn11 I live in Tacoma! The mail came but I got nothing from USC, I think if nothing comes by tomorrow then I should let go of any hope because they’ve sent them all lol
