[] Essays: Long essay was one I had written for another college and revised. I wrote about my passion for God, and how it led me to lead a rally on my campus this year. My short essays were about how I work as a tutor at a library, and how I hope USC will help me discover what I want to do the rest of my life (I applied as an "undecided" major.)
[] Teacher Recs: Should have been wonderful. I know the teacher really well.

[] Why I think I was accepted/deferred: Stats, etc.
[] Other thoughts: I did this application last minute - like the day it was due for the scholarship deadline. It was pretty stressful, and I didn't get it turned in until almost midnight. Thankfully, I was able to change one of the essays I wrote for another college for the long essay.[/ul]

Oh, and I was surprised to hear from USC so soon, too. I assumed I wasn't going to hear from them until March or April, like most of my other colleges.

Aaaah, what? USC decisions! Not cool telling me this. Now I'll be camping in front of my mailbox until I get something. CRAP! Did anyone hear anything about scholarships as well, or is that yet to come?

woahhh I just had a conniption fit about this thread. you guys are probably trustee scholarship candidates! congratulations but BAHAHHH im so scared.

ummm I'm not sure what you're asking exactly (fuzzy on the whole fin aid thing) but its a full tuition scholarship. from my research of posts last year, they send out the trustee candidate acceptances first (full scholarship) and soon after presidential scholarship (half tuition) and all those people are invited to attend the "discover usc" weekend and do an interview and soon after find out whether or not they received their respective scholarships.

Counselor Rec: Good I would hope. I don't know her too well, but she's really nice.
Hook/Awards (if any): Both my parents went to USC, so I'm sure that was helpful. I got National Spanish exam awards, a National Hispanic Scholar award, National Commended Scholar, Dean's List, and some other things I'm forgetting.

Why I think I was accepted/rejected: They like legacy kids, so I know that benefited me. But I think I wrote good honest essays, and I think my academic record and community service also helped me get accepted.
Other thoughts: It's so exciting to be accepted at a college! I'm still in shock.
